A Prince For The Ages
Summary: Jane(GP) is the prince of the Midnight Kingdom. She is desired by all the fair maidens of her Kingdom and of the surrounding kingdoms and hated by her rivals. Her father and mother want her to pick a wife so she can take over and become King. Will she finally find the woman she loves or will she be forced into an arranged marriage?
CHAPTER 1:
Jane wakes up in her large bed and stretches off the sleep in her body. She walks towards her bathroom and jumps into the shower. Jane is the next King of the Midnight kingdom that is if she can find her queen. Jane is by far the most desirable out of he royal family. She's tall and lean. Her very presence around the kingdom makes every young woman question her sexuality. Jane would often go swimming in a lake close to the royal castle and many young women of the kingdom would hide behind bushes and trees to try to catch a glimpse of the beloved Prince. Jane had a body that people would kill for, she had the amazing six-pack abs, long strong legs, muscular arms and back. And of course the one thing hanging between her legs that would draw in women from every surrounding kingdom. Yes, Jane was born with a penis but she never let that get her down or to be made fun of. Then again she is the next heir to the throne so no one would dare pick on Jane.
And that goes for the entire royal family. They were beloved by everyone in their kingdom and their allies. However out of everyone Jane was the kingdoms favorite. Whenever she would go down and visit the common people she was meet with cheers and shouts of adoration. Everyone in the kingdom was anxious and excited to see whom Jane would pick to be by her side when she took over the throne.
Jane walks out of the shower and dries herself off. She goes into her closet and pick out her outfit of the day. She chooses to wear dark blue suit with a white oxford button down and her navy blue cape that attached to a chain on her collar and her black oxford dress shoes. She hated wearing the cape it made her feel ridiculous but the royal family had a dress code that needed to be followed. She did have it modified so that her capes only came down below her back not all the way to the floor. Finally she applies some hair product to her short, jet-black hair finishing her daily routine. However she did put her foot down on wearing her crown everyday. Now she only wore her crown on special occasions.
She makes her way down the stairs and is met with her little brother Frankie.
"Hey Frankie! What's going on?" she asks as she stands in front of him.
"Hi Janie. Not much I was just on my way to get you. Father wants to see you in his study" he says placing a hand on my shoulder.
"Oh God! Now I'm going to get the marriage speech again. Why can't they just let me find love in my own way? I don't just want to meet some princess I've never met before and get married just because he wants me to take over the throne. I want real love I want to enjoy marriage not have it feel like a forced love" she says with a sad smile.
"I know Janie. They do want you to be happy but that's just the law of the land if you don't find a wife before your 27th birthday then an arranged marriage is the only option left" Frankie tells his older sister.
"Yeah I know. I only have 8 months left. None of the princesses I've met have been remotely interesting or somewhat able to hold a conversation. I know she's out there. I just know she is" Jane says looking at her brother.
"She is Janie, she is. Now go on don't keep father waiting. You know how much he hates that" He says with a smile.
"Yeah I know. I'll see you later. We'll go horseback riding" Jane says over her shoulder as she makes her way to her father's study.
Walking down the long corridors Jane tries to control her heart rate because she knows the talk she's about to have and she is not looking forward to it. Looking at the big heavy door she takes one final breath and knocks.
"Come in!" She hears come from the other side.
"Good Morning father" Jane says as she bows.
"Janie, my beautiful daughter, the future King of the Midnight Kingdom" Frank Sr. says with a smile. He embraces his daughter in a firm hug.
"How are you this morning father?" Jane asks sitting down in one of the chairs in front of her father's desk.
"I'm well Janie but a little worried. 8 months Janie. That's all that is left 8 MONTHS!" Frank says slamming his fist down on the desk.
"I know father its just…" Jane begins.
"It's just what Janie! You need to find a wife. If you don't find a wife in 8 months Janie an arranged marriage is all that is left. And even before we can get to the arranged marriage our rivals have a prime opportunity to attack us. Is that what you want Jane?" He asks Jane.
"Of course I don't! I love this kingdom more than anything I love our people. I would give my life for their protection. But I can't marry someone I don't love. Why can't you understand that!" Jane says standing up and staring her father in the eyes.
"I understand Janie I want you to experience love like I have experienced it with your mother. But sometimes the law of the kingdom comes before love. You have 8 months Janie if by then you haven't found a wife then I have no choice but to make and arrangement with King Stephen's daughter of the Aloth Kingdom" Frank replies sitting down in his chair.
"What!? Why would you ever want to join forces with that pompous ass of a King?" Jane asks.
"8 Months Jane. After that it's out of my control. Have you met with King Isles' daughter? Princess Maura I believe her name is" Frank asks his daughter.
"Isles? Now you want me marry an Irish princess? Last time I checked our two kingdoms didn't get along very well" Jane says with slight confusion.
"King Isles and myself have had disagreements but we are not enemies and I intend to keep it that way" Frank answers.
With a sigh Jane replies, "Okay send for her. I would like to meet her as soon as possible. The sooner we can eliminate her as an option the quicker I can find my true love" Jane replies.
"Alright Janie I'll send for her. Now leave me be I have work to do" King Rizzoli says shuffling papers in front of him.
"Good day father" Jane says with a final bow.
Jane walks out of the study and makes her way to meet up with her brother. While walking she can't help but chuckle at the idea of possibly marrying an Isles. She's never seen Princess Maura before but she was certain that she would be the same as every other princess that has tried to make her fall in love with them. With a final shake of her head she heads towards the stables.
Little did Prince Jane know that her life would be forever changed after meeting one Princess Maura Isles.
