Dean wet a washcloth and wiped at four-year-old Sammy's dirty face. Sam squirmed.
"Hold still—I'm tryin' ta get these smudges off your chin. What were you doing outside, digging in the dirt with your face?"
Sammy laughed into the cloth. "I was playing Army men."
"On your face?"
That got another giggle out of Sammy. "Why're you washing my face?"
"So you can eat dinner."
"But your face's dirty too!"
Dean rinsed the cloth and ran it over his own face. "There. Happy?"
"You have a smudge..." a little finger touched Dean's cheek "right there."
