Matthews POV: Day One
It had been a long week at work. I was swamped with manuscripts that needed to be read, but I promised an old friend that we'd catch up. I hadn't seen Taylor since high school, not in person anyway. She'd made it big singing. I always knew she would. Anyway, I had finally gotten ahold of her through my sister, and she called me last night saying that she was in New York for a week and wanted to catch up. So me being as much in love with her now as I was seven years ago, I agreed to meet her for coffee knowing that I was no where near meeting my deadlines for those damn manuscripts.
We agreed to meet up at the Broadway Cafe that next morning. I took the day off work which really sent my boss over the edge, but I really needed to see Taylor. I rolled out of bed and walked across my cold studio apartment and pulled on an old pair of jeans and searched for a clean shirt. Laundry day was a week ago; I was running out of clean clothes. I pulled on a dark grey sweater and swore that I'd make it to the Laundromat that afternoon.
It was 9:45. I told Taylor I'd meet her at 10. As I sat at a table in the back checking my emails, I saw the door open out of the corner of my eye. There she was. Those same big blue eyes that I fell in love with years ago. I stood and waved almost knocking my chair over. I'm such a klutz..
