'Today has been such a long day, why do I have to walk all the way home. The answer is most likely that it is good for me. Screw good for me, I want to get home curl up by my computer and start watching Doctor Who. Ugh!' Sami thought to herself. Suddenly there was a noise, a noise so familiar yet so unreal, one that brought hope wherever it went. It was that wheezing, groaning, beautiful sound of the TARDIS. Sami could not believe she was hearing this noise let alone seeing that blue box materialize in front of her. But something was wrong, wronger than a fictional object appearing in the forest behind her home, it had smoke coming out of it. She, the TARDIS, seem to be injured very badly. And then in succession to that realization, out popped the Doctor himself, coughing horridly.

He was in his tenth regeneration but no one was with him, he had just lost them all and she knew it."Get out of the way!", he yelled but Sami couldn't move, she didn't believe this. How could he be here, it was impossible , or maybe just a bit unlikely. He grabbed her round the waist, picked her up, and ran. He was touching her, holding her, she could feel his two hearts beating. He dropped her on a log and ran back to the box, it was dematerializing, leaving him stranded. "No No No, come back, please" he spoke the please with whispering sadness. He whipped his head around and looked at her "I'm the Doctor and who might you be?", she took a moment to gather herself and spoke, "Hello, my name is Samantha, and you needn't have told me your name, I know who are". He contorted his face in to one of confusion, how he did that with his eyebrows she could never figure out. "How do you know who I am?", he spoke while staring her down attempting to figure out if she was unearthly. "You've got show on the telly, Doctor Who. Its my favorite!", she said hesitantly. "You're American, Americans don't say telly.", "This one does", "Where are we?", "Potomac, Maryland, it is a suburb near Washington D.C.", "Now tell me, why am I on the telly?"
