Thanks all who view this

Thanks all who view this. I hope you love it. It will be a E/B fic with lemons in future chappies. I don't plan on making it very long though. 5 chappies at most? Not sure.

Enjoy.

Sometime in the 1900's

Bella

In the rain, in the forest, in the dark. I tried not to think about these things as my body shuddered and convulsed in the cold. I pulled my cape around me a little tighter while still holding onto the rains of my horse, while still balancing my bottom precariously in the seat of the saddle, while still digging the edge of my toes into the stirrups, while still….my body shivered again as the rain picked up a little.

It was dark and cold and I couldn't even see the stars through the dark foliage of the trees. Where was I even? Somewhere North of Nevada- where I had originally escaped from. Somewhere North of Oregon where I had taken this horse by the light of the moon. Then- somewhere in the South of Washington? I sighed as my horse and I trotted through the forest, following a weary trail that was to bring us to a town.

But then where?

My shaking fingers tightened around the ropes of leather. As long as it's far from you.

I bit my lip to keep from crying. But would crying really matter when it was raining so hard? I tilted my face, possibly the last dry part of me, to the sky and let rain fall down on me. I was stronger than this. Even I knew that.

With a fresh resolve I picked up the pace and drove my horse into a canter. I can make it.

Hours later. I could not tell if it was dusk or day. Clouds hung heavily over me as I lay awkwardly on my horse. The back of my thighs were raw from the lack of protection my skirt provided, my neck was sore from crookedly laying my cheek on my horse's mane, my chest was tender from the saddle trying to impale me as I dozed, I had a fever, my fingers and toes were numb, and I could not feel my lips.

Was I going to give up?

No.

But I was so tired…shifting my weight for the hundredth time in a failed attempt to become comfortable, I finally realized that I had to rest. But no…I could not rest. I had to keep going. What if they were to come after me?

But….so tired…

I closed my eyes.

Just for a moment.

Rain fell into my open eyes.

Why was I looking at the sky?

My body ached yet it was numb at the same time. I could hardly tell where the cold stopped and my body began.

Cold. So cold.

I shivered, and wondered how long it would take me to die here. Here….looking at the sky? No sun shone, but the day was horribly overcast as chilling rain spun down upon my face.

But where was here. My fingers twitched in an insane attempt to bring back feeling.

I blinked but my vision blurred.

Was this it then?

Was this what I had worked so hard for?

I had run away from imprisonment straight into Death's waiting arms.

My eyes filled with tears. Hopefully…I focused on the sky.

But where was the sky? A face filled my vision instead. An angel. Ah, this was it then.

I took a deep halting breath, and faced the worst.

"Her beauty makes this vault a feasting presence full of light."
