His first clue that Dean had come this way was a smudge of fresh blood marring the dingy paint around the door. Sam bit his lip as he contemplated how hurt Dean might be but he continued inching forward. It was only a small smear so Sam was hopeful that that equaled a small wound.
His second clue came moments later when he found another, larger, smutch of blood on the floor. His brief hope crashed and burned. He hated the thought of following his brother's blood like breadcrumbs, but with the goblin still stalking them, he had no choice.
