Another original Thomas story, this time it's "The Beatles on Sodor" Enjoy and comment.

It was a cool evening on the Island of Sodor. The engines were ready to go to sleep for the night.

"Can somebody tell us a story?" asked James.

"I got a good one about Duck and Diesel." said Thomas.

The engines didn't want to hear that story at all.

Kind Edward finally interrupted.

"I got a good story. It took place before Thomas even came to Sodor."

Gordon gleamed.

"Is this story about the Beatles?"

"In fact, yes it is." replied Edward.

Both James and Gordon remembered that day very well.

"Go on and tell us!" said Percy.

And with that, Edward began to tell the story about the day the Beatles performed on Sodor.

It was a beautiful Saturday day on the Island on Sodor. Me, Gordon, James and Henry were resting in the sheds, when Sir Topham Hatt arrived with big news.

"The Beatles are coming to perform a concert tonight here on Sodor." he said. "I need an engine to take the band and their instruments, another to take the passengers, and another to take the camera crew from ITV."

We all whistled as Sir Topham Hatt walked away.

However, I knew Sir Topham Hatt wouldn't choose me for anything, since I'm the oldest engine on Sodor.

"He'll choose me to pull the band for sure!" said Gordon.

"Rubbish!" replied James. "Sir Topham Hatt will choose me to collect the band, since I have splendid red paint."

This made everyone but me very cross.

Now I knew James had splendid red paint, but I didn't think that Sir Topham Hatt would choose him.

But I was wrong.

Late that morning, Sir Topham Hatt came back to the sheds.

"Edward, you will take the ITV crew to the concert, Gordon will take the passengers, and James will take the band and instruments.

James was so delighted, that he gave off a loud whistle, but Gordon was very cross.

"Oh cheer up Gordon!" I said. "Taking passengers is a very important job too."

But Gordon didn't agree at all.

"I want to take the Beatles, NOT passengers!" thundered Gordon as he crossly puffed away.

James on the other hand, was delighted.

"I'm the best, I'm the best!" he chanted as he set off to collect the Beatles.

When he arrived at the harbor, the Beatles were being adored by screaming teenage girls.

This made James cross. He thought they were adoring his shiny red paint, and not the Beatles.

The members of the band, Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison and Ringo Starr all got into James's coaches.

The screaming girls jumped up and down shouting…

"WE LOVE YOU BEATLES!"

Then, James set off.

As he passed by, more screaming fans were waiting at all the stations James passed, all shouting the same things as before.

Soon, he arrived at the Royal Theater, just as me and Gordon were arriving.

The concert was a massive success, I should note that Gordon was still cross at Sir Topham Hatt the next day, and for two weeks straight, for not letting him to take the Beatles.

"Oh, the indignity!" said Gordon.

"That was a great story." said Percy.

"No it wasn't!" snapped Gordon. "But does anyone want to know what happened after that?"

But there was no answer. All the other engines, even Edward, had gone to sleep for the night.

Gordon was now crosser than ever.

"Oh, the indignity!" he said as he crossly went to sleep.
