Ebony hair bobs up and down as its owner sobs into his hands.
A small blond haired boy runs as fast as his short legs can carry him, followed by a furious man wielding a broken, glass bottle. He ducks into an alleyway and through an abandoned gate. He glances around sharply, finding himself in an unfamiliar place. He pauses his dash for a second on top of the tall bank of a lake.
The man is gone, so the boy relaxes and slows to a walk. He sees a small boy his own age sitting on the dock, crying. He slowly makes his way down to the other boys figure and places a tiny hand on his back.
"Hey," he murmurs, "You alright?"
The raven-haired boy turns around and gazes at the newcomer with tear filled eyes. "My brother.." he sobs, "He...He killed them…."
The blond boy's eyes widen for a fraction of a second, but then he asks, "W..Who?"
"Them," The young raven chokes on a sob, "All of them, mom, dad… everyone." He hangs his head. "Nii-san was so perfect… he trained me… when father didn't even look at me he was there…" He looks up again, and his eyes are a shining blood red, "That's why… I'll become strong, and kill him… So he pays for what he did."
The blond boy stiffens, and he grabs the other boy's hand encouragingly. "I… I'm sure… He had a good reason. Y...Your brother… sounds like a great person," He too hangs his head, "H… he wouldn't have done something like that without a good reason. H… he must have had to, for you… I've heard that people do terrible things for the sake of their family." He stops for a second.
" Not that I would know." he murmurs, though the raven doesn't hear him,
"Bu...But he killed them! He said it was to get stronger… He killed them… All just to get stronger!" The black-haired boy shouts.
The other boy stands up, suddenly impassioned, "So you're going to believe a murderer? Especially when he says that's his reason? Really?" He shouts back.
The other boy looks down, "N...No, Bu..but."
"Th...Think about it. Your brother can't have done something that bad for no reason."
"Y...yeah, I guess."
"I'm Naruto," attempting to lighten the mood he adds, "And I'm going to be Hokage one day, Believe It!"
"I...I'm Uchiha Sasuke."
