Emotions, they were new to Conner and thus strange. After becoming a deviant he felt many strange emotions he did not understand all of which he confronted Markus about, and all of which Markus explained to him. However this time it was different Conner didn't know why but it just felt different, regardless he decided that Markus could help him, and so he stopped a taxi and went on his way.
"Markus. Conner is asking for you," North said smirking. "Dear lord it feels like he's in my office more often than not," Markus said. Wait you mean that he actually leaves? I thought he just stepped out of the shadows when he needed help," Josh said sarcastically causing Markus to give him a death glare. North walked out only to return a few seconds later with Conner at her side. "Well Conner what's up?" Markus asked as he nodded North and Josh out of the room. Conner looked around somewhat nervously before saying "It's another new emotion and I have no understanding of what it is all I know is that it happens at certain times around certain people, such as yourself, and it is distracting enough so that it prevents me from being fully effective. Do you know what it is?" "Well first of all is it only around me or others to?" Markus asked trying to narrow the possibilities down. "Well it also happens around Hank and Sumo and any other person I've known for a while and like a lot," Conner stated completely oblivious as to how perfectly he was describing love, granted he most likely didn't even know what love really was. "Conner"," Markus said, "do you know what love is?" He asked hoping that Conner would catch on. "Yes, but why does that matter?" Conner asked. At that Markus laughed a little and shook his head causing Conner to cock his head and say "I don't believe I understand what you are saying, could you please elaborate?" Markus was almost full on laughing by then so he pulled it together and said "Conner you clearly don't see that you just told me you love me, but you did." By now Conner was very confused he didn't get how he could love someone without knowing, he had read enough books to properly understand how love works... or so he thought. "But how could that even work how could I not know it and even still I'M GAY! How I know everything about everything how could I know nothing about this, it doesn't make sense? And you are dating North oh my God, and I just accidentally confessed my love to you no no no no no," Conner panicked almost crying now. "Conner calm down it's okay first of all you don't know anything about anything that matters anymore second being gay is not bad third I am no longer dating North and fourth I love you too." Markus said causing Conner to calm down and listen until he heard Markus say "I love you to" which really confused Conner, so much so that even with his advanced engineering he had to put allot of effort into not completely overloading, and plus he had no idea how to respond to that Conner had no experience with love and everything he thought he knew was all a lie and would not help in this situation. "Conner, Conner Conner!" Markus yelled trying and failing to knock his friend out of his coma like state. Eventually Conner snapped back into reality after a not so patient Markus had interfaced with him and attempted to figure out whether Conner returned his feelings or not, his plan had not worked. "Conner talk to me." Markus pleaded. "I-I don't I don't know what to say, but I believe one way of wording it is I love you more." Conner said a smile forming on Markus' face. "Sorry that can't happen because I love you most." Markus countered. "A but Markus I love you to the moon and back." Conner said a smile forming on his own face now. "Oh come on now you sound like a two year old talking to his mom." Markus said his smile now more of a smirk. Conner was still slightly baffled but before he could say anything more they were interrupted by a worried looking android who's expression instantly calmed at the mere sight of the two. "Um Conner Hank wanted you," the android said. "Alright well I suppose I will call you later and don't worry I will have the indefinite location," Conner said before winking at Markus and walking out of the room. The android who had gotten Conner looked quizzically at Markus who just shrugged and waved him off.
"Hey Conner did you tell Hank about us yet?" Markus asked over a call. No but I would've had he been at least somewhat sober, however sober he was not and so I have yet to tell him, but I will as soon as the chance presents itself. Did you tell anyone yet?" Conner asked. "Well yes I told Josh and North but I don't know if anyone else needs to know for the time being." Markus said. "Well I figured that it would only make sense to say this so I will, Would you like to go out to dinner tonight?" Conner asked . "Yes I would love that, but were shall we go?" Markus asked trying to make it seem like a romance movie. "Well Um I mean I was hoping you would let me surprise you," Conner half asked half stated. "Huh I don't have a cheesy response to that just a serious one, sure surprise me," Markus said very happy at the moment. "Okay then meet me Here at 8:00 PM, Bye love you," Conner said feeling obligated to do so. "Love you to," Markus responded out of sheer instinct. Conner was to socially awkward to hang up the phone so Markus did it for him.
Markus was there ten minutes early so he and Conner chatted until 8:00 When they got into a taxi and drove off until they reached a place called "Barn Boards" And it was not so surprisingly made to look like an old rustic barn, a look Markus quite liked as he was not a big fan of the white houses made from nothing but widows also known as modern houses. "Here we are", Conner said. "I suppose so", Markus said. Without another word they walked sibe by side into the restaurant. "I have reservations." Conner said as they walked in. A worker walked over tapped a touch screen tablet a few times and then asked "Name." For a second Conner stood there and blinked, and then all of a sudden he just said, "Conner Anderson." The worker tapped the tabblet a few more times before grabbing some menues and nodding for them to come with her. After they had been seated and a waitress had walked over to them and told them her name was Jess and then asked what she wanted to drink-Markus and Conner both responded water- they sarted talking. About nothing in particular just whatever came to mind, they were however very careful not to openly show affection to each other. That was until Conner the oblivious fool he was simply kissed Markus like it was normal. Even though he was the one who just hours earlier had freaked out upon the relization he was gay. Some of the other people there did not like what they were seeing so they yelled and even threw food, but a group of people walked up to them and raised there middle fingers. They would yell and cuss until Conner said, "Bugger off mate" somehow heavily accented. "Oh we've got a gay Brit invading America." Said one of the men. Conner then stood up grabbed the man and said "Bugger off mate" once agsin heavily accented . The same man started to yyell and scream about how the president wad letting Btitish faggots into the country. During the camotion Markus pretended to cower away and hide, when in reality he called the cops and waited. Conner was still yelling in a heavy Australian accent saying things like mate and bloody hell, Markus was still waiting when the sirens could be heard. When the cops oppened the fftont door and filled in they saw a huge mess, people running and screaming, food being thrown and a clearly drunk man verbally harassing another man. Upon closer inspection the cops realize that Conner is the victom of this verball harassment, and all because he loved someone of the same gender. The situation was callmed when the drunk man harassing Conner was tazzed for hitting the cop who informed him he would be fined. After questioning and a news interveiw Conner and Markus were free to go home, Conner being Conner left a $300 tip and payed $1000 for the mess and disturbance. The two walked home side by side hand in hand talking about whatever came to mind exept for the events of the past few hours. After a while they reached Markus' house Conner said goodnight gave him one last kiss, and walked alone back to Hanks.
