No matter how hard they try, heroes are always trying to do what's best for everyone else, even if it means destroying themselves.

I promise if you ask if I'm okay, I'll say "I'm fine"

I promise that you'll never see me break

Even if everything you see fake

(I don't know how long I can keep up this facade)

I promise that I will always be the hero

No matter if I feel like a zero

(I'll always be here for you)

I promise that you'll never know what my problems are

Because you don't need to see more than one scar

(I'm more broken than you know)

I promise that I won't tell you for your protection

And I'll pretend to not hear your objection

(This is for your own good)

You don't need to know what I've been through

I'm not okay, I promise you
