This is one shot I did a while ago, I found it fixed a few grammar mistakes I could find and no here it is! Just an age check here, Jamie is 25 and Sophie 18! Review if you want it to be longer or something.
Disclaimer: I no own sadly if I did own then Jack would run away half way through like 'YOU'RE ON YOUR OWN FOOLS' or something.
Sophie POV
I flicked on the light in my dirty, crummy room, the sound of my dad and his friends playing poker while drunk filling the small house. My blond hair was barely contained in its ponytail as I dumped my book bag then going into my bathroom and fixing it. My phone rang from its prison in my pocket, my hand pulling it out and pressing the answer button.
"Sophie here."
"Hey Sophie," my brother's voice came on. "Just FYI you're on speaker phone since everyone wanted to talk to you."
"That's nice Jamie but I don't have time I just got home."
"At four in the morning?!"
"Yeah Jamie I get home around now every day." I rolled my green eyes walking out of my bathroom going through my room and climbing out my window onto the roof.
"Sandy was right guys… What exactly are you getting back from?"
"Publix. Jamie I love you but please try to keep it short I'm due at Charlie's at eight."
"Charlie's? Like the burger place you took me to when I drove through there?"
"Yep, then I have to be at Marriot for my shift from one to eight then Publix from eight to ten, then I have night classes from ten till three. Fun day huh?"
"Sophie I'm worried you're over working yourself. Bunny's having a heart attack in the living room!"
"Bunny? Are talking about the Easter Bunny or something?" ok my brother's going crazy…
"Well yeah, him North, Tooth and Jack kept bugging me to call you since they can't go to Los Angeles yet. Sandy was the one to get them worried in the first place." ok so my 25 year old brother believes in Santa… wow.
"Jamie, you do realize they don't exist right?"
"Wait… you don't believe anymore?" he sounded horrified.
"Jamie I haven't believed in them since I was five or six." I told him gazing up at the stars that decorated the night sky.
"What? When did this happen?!"
"Jamie, why is this so important? You do realize all that stuff you made up was from a dream right? There are no guardians Jamie, if there were… then I wouldn't be where I am." I mumbled the last part softly leaning against the roof tiles.
"Sophie… when did you stop?" his voice was a whisper but I could still hear it.
"The year I didn't get to go to the Easter egg hunt, the year I lost a tooth and it was still there in the morning, the year Santa didn't come, the year I stopped having good dreams! I could go on for hours on end! If they were supposed to be there for children then where the hell where they?!" I basically screamed into the phone tears coming into my eyes. "Where were they when I had to get a job at the age of twelve? Or the nights I come home to a drunken father? I want them to be real Jamie, but they just aren't! Do you know how many times I've had to hide in the closet? Waiting, hoping for a hero?!"
Silence. "Sophie…"
