It had been a dreary morning the rain pounding down on an autumn day, not very nice. Most of the officers switching over to do another days shift. CID officers were coming in low and easy. Mickey Webb had arrived in first and was followed shortly after by Sam and Phil, Kate wondered in a lot later with Neil Manson swiftly behind her.
The coffee was flowing and everyone was talking about what they'd be up to that night, Mickey was hoping Kate would come out for a drink with hi because he wasn't busy tonight. Kate was teasing him and agreed to go; he made her agree they should be alone. At that time Phil, Sam and Neil had be chatting about the usual work but Phil did offer a sneaky offer of everyone should go to the pub tonight to celebrate after getting through quite a tough week. That week had been horrific and they'd found a girl who had been missing and suspected dead alive.
The pairing were set for today's shift, Mickey and Kate, Sam and Phil and Neil watching over Sam and Phil, rumour was going round that a DIs post would be up for offer because Neil would be leaving. Phil and Sam were in fighting to get that job as Sam had been acting DI before Neil arrived. At this time Mickey had been talking about football with Duncan and Kate was just there giving Mickey a look, a look that could be easily interpreted.
The phone rang it was a message to say things were kicking off down on one of the estates, he got Mickey and Kate working with Phil and Sam to see how they could all work together and give them a chance to prove themselves. Neil was testing them and they new it, they had quickly got in there cars but with today's weather they had to be careful if something was kicking off and a car chase started it would be dangerous for all involved. Mickey drove, when they got down there, the sky was a picture of red and there was debris flying everywhere this looked like a hell zone.
Mickey caught a glimpse on the corner of his eye, mia what they hell was she doing here he thought. Mickey was a problem for Mickey, especially with Kate being around.
