I never said
It was so hard for him to pick an outfit. That wasn't an usual night out to fight aliens and save planets. No, that was scarier than any dalek or any cyberman he could possibly fight against with. It was his first date with Rose. After months in a row landing the TARDIS in any unknown planet they finally decided it was time to try something more real... something more human. Whatever that meant.
Rose, on the other side, was ready but feeling nervous just as much as him. Maybe not so much. She loved him, she had no doubt about it, but "Does he feel the same?" was the question she kept asking herself all the time.
She heard him coming. He looked so beautiful and elegant in his blue suit and red tie - "How do I look?" - he asked nervously, fearing the answer. Cheeky she answered - "Not so bad. What about me?" - the Doctor looked at her in a way every girl wants to be looked at and let a little smile off his face - "You look perfect Rose.".
They exited the TARDIS holding each others hands. They didn't even realized they were doing it, it was such a normal thing for them. They sat down at the restaurant table and ordered food. For some reason none of them was talking. They always seemed to have so much to talk about whenever they were in danger but now, confronting with a real life situation they were frozen. The Doctor started sweating and trembling, everyone who'd see him would know that he was nervous. So Rose took his hand and smiled. For some reason that calmed him - "I am so sorry!" - he said with disappointment in his voice, he was so afraid to let her down - "It's okay, you're doing great.", and so the conversation started and they talked and talked for hours like time didn't existed.
They got of the restaurant both with a smile in their faces. Just when Rose was about to enter the TARDIS the Doctor stopped her by holding her harm - "Rose, wait..." - he said, again looking nervous. "Are you okay?" - she looked worried, she had never seen him acting like that before - "I just need to talk to you about something..." - she started to be afraid... what if she had done something wrong? What if he didn't wanted her anymore? - "We've been travelling together for a long time now..." - he started - "And I... never really said... what that means to me..." - he was now getting closer to her as he spoke - "You know I traveled with a lot of people before but... never like this... and I... I just wanted to say that..." - the words didn't seemed to get out of his mouth. But Rose, clever as always, already knew what he was gonna say, and so with a smile she whispered - "I love you too" - he held her face and looked at her like she was a fragile thing that needed to be protect at all costs and so he said "Oh, Rose Tyler..." right before she interrupted him with a kiss that only lasted a few seconds but in their minds it was like everything in that moment was frozen, like there was no one around and they were happy at last.
