The sword dripped in the dark blood of the enemy, the enemy that was now slain. Every fiber of his being recoiled against the act that must now take place, but it was utterly futile.
"Do you remember, Haji, The Promise?"
"Of course I remember!" He longs to shout into the night! The memory of the day when he made such a horrid promise suffuses him with an all-consuming Anguish. It is unfair.
"Haji." Amazing how he brought back to reality by that simple phrase, it brings him out of his reverie. He turns and looks at her, the one that causes him such pain. The pain that crosses her face gives him just the faintest inkling the barest trace of a longing.
"SAYA! Please," he begs his very soul is being torn into shreds. "Don't make me do this! I cannot do this! I must obey! How I long to deny you this…how can you not see how I must obey… even as it kills me to do so?"
"Please Haji?"
Always the obedient servant, Haji uses the sword that rests in his chiropteran hand. Using one, efficient swipe, He slices just the palm of his beloved. As she falls to the floor, she dies before him. He sees the ghost of a smile play across her lips…"Thank you"
As she lies before me, dead upon the floor, a part of me dies along with her. She has been my very reason for being, and now I have nowhere to turn. It is inevitable what I must do. But I cannot. Not yet. I have one more promise I must fulfill first.
Haji picked up the body of his beloved queen. As he fled the theater with her lifeless body in his arms, He let the tears fall unrestricted down his alabaster cheeks. He flew over the rooftops of New York, Carrying her to her final resting place.
"Almost there, my love, I am almost there."
I am carrying her body, its cold now, over the rooftops. When I first reached the edge of the beach, I was unsure if I would have been able to make it. But it was her last wish. I allow the tears to fall as I approached the Miyagusuku crypt.
I lay your body down within the crypt, and I lay down to you. Taking my favorite dagger, and vial of the enemy's blood, I stab myself through my own heart. As I turn to nothing but dust, one thought lingers…
" I am coming, my love."
