I look the human age of 18 but I am far from that. I was born in the era of chivalry and simple elegance. My family was on of class and set a standard others would strive to meet.
The men worked and provided for their families and the woman did what was needed to keep the home a home. I was the fifth child of Adolphos and Aellai Michaelides but I was the only daughter. Certain royalties were given to me as such but I was never a greedy child. I would simply take what I was given and be proud to show it off. At the age of 13 a suitor came for me.
My father as many were then, was ready to let me be and hand me off to be married. I truly wish I hadn't been but alas it was my fate and destiny. The years were rougher as I was only a child and he was very old. But he was wealthy. Iason (In Latin it is Jason) Sebastian was known through out the lands as a play boy. I alone was guarded as a secret amongst his possessions. When the wars started Iason was scurried off and I was sent home. The only possessions I was allowed to take was what I adorned at the time the soldiers came.
When I arrived back at my village, I was frowned upon, because I was broken. I was still childless and a soon to be widow. Not many men made it back from the wars and I would be left shunned and alone. I never knew a feeling of loneliness until that time. Weeks passed and no word came from Iason. My fretting and worry was wearing thin on my parents. On my mothers death bed I sat, waiting and watching as she finally passed easily in her sleep.
My father followed her a few days later. I waited by their plots, my tears falling endlessly as I was truly left alone. My brothers, my husband, my family all taken from me by death and war.
It wasn't until that night, the night the creatures appeared that I found I had a purpose. the screams of the village had woken me and I ran outside. My eyes were wide as I saw the creatures. They had the village turned apart. bodies were scattered and I had hoped it was all one of the bad dreams I had had as a small child. The Children of the Moon, were a legend, they were not supposed to be real. The pain, the tears and the screams I shed faded quickly as the darkness took over.
Days later I awoke to a new life. The life I adore to this day. I had to relearn what it meant to live again but the only man who has ever loved me for me, was along side me the entire journey. I hadn't learned my true love story until months after my awakening. Caius had spotted me during his travels back to Greece. I had never seen him before as he was always in the shadows. If it had not been for him lurking in the shadows that night I would have met the same fate as the rest of my village. That is the meaning of a love story. He loved me enough to save me the only way he knew how.
Since that night long ago, centuries have passed. people have come and gone but my family, our kingdom has rained supreme. I remember my values and my beliefs I was brought up with and I still remember the night that ended a painful existence for me.
Some may see me as a monster, some may see me as a goddess, I only see me as a girl forever in love with the peacefulness and happiness her true undying love can bring her.
Caius saved me and helped me live again. I will forever be his and live my undying days out by his side, as his lover and his queen until the end of eternity.
