Freya sat on a stone structure in Burmecia, pondering over her change in course for the future.
She was alive, yes, and she had found the love of her life again…But he can't even remember their past together. What had happened to make him forget her? Could she ever reignite that memory of his? Perhaps it was her punishment for depending on him returning, or maybe he was being punished for leaving her. She sighed softly - it didn't matter; Lord Fratley was with her now, like she had hoped. Freya remembered Zidane in Cleyra, trying to explain to Fratley that she was his love but his vacant expression told of no past. She, too, had wanted to shout some sense into him just to make him recollect their time together; to be forgotten is worse than death. But, Freya thought sadly, it wouldn't have made a difference; could it be possible that he was happier not knowing?
She sighed and held her head in despair, unable to make any sense of the thoughts rushing uncontrollably through her mind. Suddenly, Freya remembered Zidane in Terra; he was a created genome and looked for his past, wanting to know who he was and his purpose in life. But it didn't bring happiness; it brought sorrow, confusion, anger and a sense of worthlessness to the young blonde boy. Even though the future is unpredictable, the past is not something to dwell on. Perhaps forgetting what he was has freed Fratley from the demanding ties of the past.
Freya looked to the sky and closed her eyes to let the gentle rain cleanse away any doubts about what was to come.
