AN: I haven't seen any of book 3, or the ending of book 2. I am working it out from Wikipedia accounts.
Chapter 1: Firebender
"Aang, Aang!" Katara whispered desperately, "Come on Aang."
"He's not going to wake up for a while, Katara, let him rest," said Sokka. Toph elbowed him.
"Give her a break, he's been out cold for three days now," She whispered in his ear. Sokka rolled his eyes, and Toph elbowed him again.
"Could you two stop," Katara hissed, turning to face them, tears streaming down her face. She jumped as she felt something touch her shoulder.
"Katara…" a voice groaned weakly from behind her. She turned around, hope spreading across her face. Aang was awake.
"I feel like a trip to the south pole!" Aang stated, fully revived and enjoying tea in a café in Ba Sing Se.
"Fine by me," said Sokka, "I could do with going home."
"Same here," said Katara, "Aang and I can find out when the next train in the right direction is, while you two can get some supplies."
Everyone agreed with this course of action, and set off. When Aang and Katara arrived at the train station, Aang went to check the timetable. Katara sat down on a bench. Soon, a young man sat down beside her. He nudged her to get her attention, and pointed at Aang.
"Are you travelling with him?" he asked, his voice smooth.
"Yes, why?" Katara was suspicious. The young man looked left and right, before turning back to her.
"If he's who I think he is, I need to speak to him."
"And who do you think he is?"
The man looked her straight in the eye.
"How many other people do you know with light blue arrows all over their body?" he asked sarcastically, "My name's Ehron."
"Katara."
"Nice to meet you, Katara. Do you mind waiting, I'll only be a minute," and so saying he got up and walked over to a nearby tea vendor.
"What was that about?" Aang asked as he came back.
"He's called Ehron. He says he needs to speak to you."
"What about?"
"Dunno," Katara replied, "He wouldn't say."
"Well, we're about to find out."
Ehron came walking over towards Katara and Aang carrying a small teacup.
"Ahh, the wonder's of Jasmine tea…" He sighed as he had a sip. He spat it out at once. "This is freezing!"
"What did you want to tell me?" asked Aang.
"I was wondering if… well, I was wondering if I could travel with you."
Aang exchanged shocked looks with Katara.
"Should we let him?" Katara asked.
"I dunno," Aang looked at Ehron, as if to judge him, and his eyes widened in terror.
"Aang?" Katara asked, waving her hand in front of his eyes. He lifted a trembling finger.
"The tea…" He stuttered. Katara turned around. Ehron was sipping his tea quietly, unaware of the world around him.
And the tea was steaming.
