Disclaimer: Nothing in here belongs to me, it all belongs to the very wonderful people who created this gorgeous game. Woe I do not even own a copy of it myself, having to content myself with watching my flatmate play it (since I haven't got round to trying it myself).

The following was inspired by her trying to demonstrate how to dispose of the Eleventh Colossus, and having it go a little wrong.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wander nearly lost his footing as the Colossus charged into the pillar yet again, but managed to hold firm and concentrate on his task. He thrust the wood into the depths of the fire, praying that his plan would work. Once it was blazing strongly he knelt on the warn stone, giving himself a more secure perch, and waited for the next charge. The beast slammed into the base of the structure, harder than before it seemed. The shock of the impact went straight through Wander's body and made his teeth chatter. It was getting angry. Time to make his move.

He leapt down and ran towards the Colossus, which was backing away and making ready for another charge. It definitely noticed that he had moved, shifting itself to accommodate this movement into its next attack. He ran up and waved the burning torch in its face. The beast backed up and showed absolutely no desire to charge anymore. Wander mentally gave a sigh of relief and pushed forwards once again, waving the torch as he went, searching for the cliff edge out of the corner of his eye. Closer and closer they got, until the creature was only a few paces away from falling. Heart pounding Wander allowed himself a brief grin of triumph.

Then the torch went out.

Wander had just enough time for one perfectly crystal clear thought before the beast charged: Someone up there really hates me.
