Author's Notes: Well, this is my first Xander and Buffy fic. It's set during season one.
I'm a Xander/Buffy and Buffy/Spike fan. This fic is kindda sappy but I like
it. Title came from the song Everything I Do by Bryan Adams. I love the song but I had to take it out because of the new rule.

Everything I Do:

By: LOSTwitch

This had been Buffy Summer's breaking point. She couldn't stand being the Slayer anymore. Buffy realized that she was not strong enough to beat the Master...

She was in her room drowning her sorrow and mixed emotions with the sounds of rock n' roll and sappy love songs, which blasted from her stereo. Her mom, was at the art gallery and she wouldn't be back till later that night. Buffy was thankful for that because she didn't feel like the whole mother daughter thing.

She sat on the edge of her bed lost in her thoughts. Buffy had missed her friends all ready. Usually at this time, she would be talking on the phone with Willow but not tonight. Buffy had never felt more alone. She had not even seen Angel in the past few days.

A light tapping on her window interrupted Buffy's thoughts. She got up from her bed and went to her window. Buffy opened the window and was surprised to see whom she saw on one of the tree branches.

"Xander?"

"Hey, can I come in?" he asked.

As she helped Xander in, she asked: "Why didn't use the door?"

When he was finally in he answered her question: "Because I knew you wouldn't answer."

She looked at him. "What are you doing here?"

Xander had a feeling that question was coming. He answered her honestly. "I wanted to make sure you were okay." he paused. "Are you okay?" Xander asked, with concern in his tone.

"Xan, how about going elsewhere, and bugging someone else." she replied harshly.

He turned to leave but stopped. Xander turned back to Buffy. "Why are you acting this way?" he asked. "What's your problem?"

Buffy glared at him. "What's my problem?" she asked, with a mean tone. "My problem is, that I'm tired of it all!" Buffy snapped. "I'm tired of being the Slayer, and I'm tired of getting my friends hurt just because they hang out with me!"

She went and sat on the edge of her bed again. Xander was quiet and continued to listen to Buffy. She looked up at him. He could see the tears getting ready to submerge.

"How am I suppose to be the Slayer, when I can't face up to the Master?" Buffy asked tearfully. "He was too strong, and I'm weak." she paused. "I can't beat him."

Xander was never good at comforting people. That's when he noticed that the cd changed to a new song from Buffy's stereo. He saw has Buffy buried her head in her hands and sobbed.

A short silence filled the room. Soon the song "Everything I Do, I Do It For You" by Bryan Adams came on. Xander extended a hand to Buffy. She lifted her head and smiled at him through her tears. Then she took his hand, and he pulled her close to him. This was the only way he could think of on how he could comfort her. As the song started, he softly sang to Buffy.

Buffy felt comfortable in Xander's arms. His touch was warm, unlike Angel's, which was cold. She continued to listen as they danced to the music.

The song finally ended. Buffy smiled to herself. No one had done something like that before for her. She didn't want this to end.

Xander was also smiling. He couldn't believe what he had just done. Xander not only had sung to his secret love but admited it through the song. He prayed that she noticed that. The funny thing was, when the song stopped and silence filled the room, they still continued to dance.

"Xander," replied Buffy with a small laugh.

"Yeah?"

"The music stopped."

"I know." Xander said as they went on dancing.
