Daylight

Her human flesh flinched at the heat of the sun. She had never experienced daylight – it was a huge contrast to even warm summer nights. The rays began to burn her skin as she stood staring at the huge ball of fire rising in the blue sky.

She scanned the city, seeing for the first time what humans looked like with the sun on their faces. Everything was brighter than she had ever experienced.

"This is every gargoyle's dream," she smiled, loving every minute that she felt the warmth of the sunshine envelop her body. "But being human is despicable..."
