Author's note: Okay, I thought of half of this story when I was half-asleep and the other when I was wake. I have no idea how good this fic is going to turn out, but here is to taking a chance. On a positive note I 'am rather certain that I got the characters in character for the most part, if not then feel free to correct me on that. Criticisms are awesome! I hope you like it or at least find it cute.
Long ago, on a quiet a night, all of Shuggazoom was asleep including the monkey team, however one of team, Mandarin woken up when he heard soft knocks. Not one that like to be disturbed so suddenly, he demeaned to know who was making the racket and to stop it. At that moment it ceased and replaced with a bit of a whimper before a deep voice spoke up. "Hey um, Mandarin?" He pinched the bridge of his nose having no doubt it was his most trusted ally and youngest brother, at least mentally, Otto.
"Couldn't this wait until mourning?" The orange simian asked.
"Can I stay with you tonight, I don't think I can sleep by myself?"
"Why?"
"I had a dream that you were swallowed by a flaming hole and I couldn't get you out;" The sigh before getting out and opening the door to a pleading Otto.
With one look into his teammate's eyes, he said "Fear not Otto I 'am not going anywhere."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes; now come, I stay with you until you fall asleep.
"Yay!" as his green comrade cheered before the duo head towards Otto's room.
Years later Mandarin was exile and a new soul filled his position, a human boy name Chiro. As the young lad slept in the orange monkey's old room when suddenly heard some noises that sound like mechanical parts moving. Curious, he walked out and spotted Otto, inches away from the door, on the floor with his eyes closed, snoring.
Baffled as to how the green simian made his way to his room, he knelt down, and was about to place a hand the monkey's shoulder when Otto started to pant; his eyelids shut tighter letting tears stream down his face glistening his green fur on his cheeks, muscles tense, and his body shook. "Otto!" The human cried out, but to no response.
"No...no, don't... don't leave!" Otto muttered.
At that moment, Chiro grabbed the simian's should shook him a few. "Otto, wake up! It's alright!" he said in a slight panic tone. Though Otto did not woken up, his body did, however relaxed a bit. "It's alright Otto, I 'am not going to leave, promise;" Soon the green monkey body loosen up more, his breathing lowered, and he became quieter, which eased the boy's body too. Chiro soon let out sigh of relief before he scooped up his friend with both arms and carried him towards his bed with a sympatric look. After he placed him down, he stayed up for bit to make sure Otto was going to keep sleeping well, before got tired and went to dream land too.
The next morning, a black monkey came in to see why Chiro hadn't gotten out bed when he saw his fellow monkey lying next to him. Though he questioned the situation, he sensed that it was best not too disturbed, so he didn't. He did however activate his ghost claw, held one out, and moved the blanket closer to the sleeping duo's shoulders with telekinesis. Perhaps, the two wouldn't mind telling him later, but at that moment, he left with only sounds off the doors closing emanating while giving a smirk while the human and the simian snored away.
