Dreams come stalking in.

Ianto stared down at Jack, knowing he should probably try to wake the man yet finding himself unable to move. Sweat and tears were trickling down Jack's face as he yelped and sobbed in his sleep. Ianto bit at his lip, wondering what was causing the dreams tonight, wondering which horrific memory of Jack's the man was having to re-live. Ianto watched with horrified fascination as Jack twitched before screaming. Then again, he thought to himself, it was hardly a surprise, Jack was immortal, he'd lived a long life, of course he had nightmares. And that was what disturbed Ianto because he himself had enough bad dreams, dreams of Lisa, of those Cannibals, of Cybermen and Daleks and… Well lots of dreams. But Jack had lived longer and had more… So how long before Ianto had just as many bad memories to stew over in his sleep? Ianto had only been immortal for five months now, it wasn't like it had been long enough for it to have much of an impact, of course the whole coming back to life thing was painful and a cause for nightmares in itself but… Well no one had died yet, he hadn't watched his friends and family grow old around him, hadn't watched everyone who mattered die around him… But how long until he did? Rhiannon, Johnny, the kids… Gwen, Tosh, Owen… All of them would die and he, Ianto, would be left behind. Jack gave another scream in his sleep and Ianto blinked, moving to grab Jack's shoulder's, shaking him awake. Jack yelped before shooting upwards, grabbing hold of Ianto as he gasped loudly, taking in his surroundings. "Sorry, did I wake you?" Jack murmured after a moment, looking at Ianto carefully before brushing his arm over his face, wiping away some of the sweat and tears.

"How do you do it? Night after night of bad memories… Reminders of all the people you've lost." Whispered Ianto.

Jack swallowed, taking Ianto's face in his hands, "I wake up to you, that makes it easier, and knowing I won't be alone for eternity now…" He said quietly, stroking his hand over Ianto's face. Ianto gave a half smile, leaning forwards into Jack's touch, "It's not easy Ianto, and no it doesn't get any easier with time… But having support, it does help. And I will be there for you, as long as you'll have me, maybe even longer." Jack gave a small chuckle, "Even after you tell me to bugger off I'll still follow you around, making sure you're alright. Always wanted to be a stalker!"

Ianto snorted, "It's a nice plan but there's one flaw?"

"Oh?"

"Yeah… I'll never tell you to bugger off." Ianto whispered, kissing Jack gently before deepening the kiss, holding his lover tightly.

Jack grinned as they parted, "I'm glad, even if you are ruining my stalking plans."
