Intro and Prologue

Harry Potter woke up to a bright day. He yawned, stretched, and rubbed his sleepy eyes. He had to visit the Ministry today to decline their offer for Minister of Magic. Kingsley would be much better than an 18-year-old guy who had had so much trouble protecting himself all these years...

He wore his bunny slippers. Stupid, cute, amazing Ginny. It was her idea of a valentine's day prank. He loved her too much to throw them away, so ignoring his friends' teases, he wore them all around the house.

He walked up to the door to get the post. Only this time, Uncle Vernon wasn't making him get it.

He picked up the parcel that was on the floor, followed by a letter. He could hear Ron running down the stairs. "What is that?" Ron asked

"Don't know," said Harry, giving him the parcel, as he opened the letter.

Dear Harry,

I know I should have told you this long back, but I'm your Godmother. I was engaged to Pa- uh, Sirius, and was your mother's best friend. I wanted to write to you sooner but I guessed you would be busy with the Ministry, so soon after the war.

I also wanted to tell you that I'm the only one alive of the Marauders. I feel like telling you everything, but I know you don't have that kind of time.

Harry, you are the only one giving me a reason to live, because, as each day passes, I get tempted to join my friends. They are where I can't talk to them, I can't laugh and joke with them, I can't pull Sirius' cheeks or play with Lily's hair. I can't tease James, I can't spy on Frank and Alice. I can't go shopping with Marlene and Mary, I can't play Quidditch with Gwenog, I can't discuss Myths with Remus...

"Hey Harry?" Ron said from across the table."What are these black boxes? Its not another Horcrux of some sort, right?"

"It's a tape- to watch movies"

"Oh" Ron only knew about movies because, just after the war, Hermione had dragged the both of them to see Scooby Doofor some "de-stressing"

Harry continued reading-

I really miss them.

Before your parents, the McKinnons died and the Longbottoms cruciated, we worked together to make this for you kids. We knew that our time was going to come to an early end, so wanted to preserve our memories in something more than tears.

It took a lot of complicated charms and a lot of transfiguration to turn tears into tapes. Though it is a muggle thing (movies and tapes, that is- Lily helped with that), we figured it was the best way. I have sent you the first part. We got hold of memories from Petunia Dursley, Regulus Black, Rose Potter, Parents, Teachers and of course- us, and put together a documentary on-

The Hogwarts Years 1-5 of the Marauders. The title being "Learning to Maraud".

Yours truly, lovingly, sincerely,

Hestia Jones

Just-one-rank-below-editor,

The Quibbler

Harry finished reading the letter in silence. He read it again, taking it all in.

Hestia Jones... She was part of the Order! He had met her so many times, and had not known that she was the key to his parents this entire time.

He looked over all the names in the letter. If he had to watch this- he would watch it with the rest of the surviving Dumbledore's Army. They deserved that.

He sent his stag to spread the word, and then made it go to the Ministry to politely decline their offer, and suggested Kingsley in place of him. The DA arrived at Ron and Harry's apartment, and Hermione, Ginny and Luna walked over from next door.

"Harry?" It was Neville. "Does this actually have everything about my parents?"

"Yes, according to the letter." Harry almost forgot that Neville's parents were in such a horrid condition.

"Do you think, if I can get my parents to watch this, they could get better?"

It might help. Harry wasn't sure, but it could help them understand what had happened. He nodded, leaning over to insert the tape into the muggle player that they had borrowed from Hermione.

The screen flickered to life.

A/N:

Tada! surprising? Cool? Sad? The letter made you cry? Don't worry, the rest is mostly laughter! Pranks, Prats, and Puns- I'm Sirius. ;p
