What would happen if Kiara wasn't the one that stopped Zira from killing Simba?
"This is for you…Scar." Zira lunged at Simba only to be charged by someone she least expected. Vitani and Zira stumbled down the cliff, fighting it out.
They rolled off the cliff edge, but Vitani caught the edge with her claws, and Zira caught her backside, digging her claws into her. Vitani growled in pain. Zira started crawling up her, and too her safety. She stood in front of Vitani looking down at her.
"You were a fool Vitani! And now you're paying for it!" She stabbed her claws into her paws, and in return Vitani let out a growl full of sharp teeth.
"I won't go down without a fight!" Vitani, somehow, managed to free her paws and jump on Zira.
Simba, Kiara, Nala, and Kovu watched as the two battled it out, viscously. Zira was ripping and biting every chance she got, and the only thing Vitani could do was dodge her attacks.
"She's going to kill her. Dad do something!" Kiara called out to him, but when he did nothing, she took it into her own paws.
Kiara jumped down the cliff and started making her way over to the fighting daughter and mother.
"Looks like Kiara came over to get some beating to." Vitani took one look at the approaching Kiara, and immediately knew what her mother was planning to do.
It all happened so fast that Kiara didn't register what just happened until after it happened. Zira lunged at her with her mouth open, teeth showing, and claws drawn. She waited for the pain to come but found that it didn't. She a flash of fur, and the next thing she knew, Vitani and Zira were tumbling down and into the river.
"Tani!" And just like that they were consumed by the raging river. Kiara was about to head back up the cliff but she could've sworn that she saw a head poke out of the water.
Kiara looked back at the river and waited a while, watching to see if she would see it again. A head poked out of the water, then soon an arm, and another arm. They grabbed onto the cliff side and pulled the rest of the body out of the water and onto a small rock platform. She collapsed in exhaustion, and breathed heavily.
"Someone get her!" Kiara heard her dad order from the top of the cliff. She didn't wait for help, she raced down the cliff, to where Vitani lay.
She saw, closer up, how bad Zira had injured her. There was a scar running under the bottom of her right eye, many teeth punctures were visible on her back, paws, head, ears, arms, legs…basically everywhere, not to mention the many cuts and gashes.
"Tani?" Kiara gently nudged Vitani under her head. She made a noise that sounded like a low growl. Her eyes barely opened and focused on Kiara.
"Kiara?" Her voice was filled with confusion. Kiara gave a small nod and slowly laid down next to her.
"What are you doing here?"
"I'm here to help you." Kiara started licking Vitani's wounds, and she began to purr in approval.
"That sounds nice." Vitani crawled into Kiara's embrace, rubbing her head against her chest.
