She gazed into the sunlight, it was not the warmest day, but it would do, Selphie Timitt gently rubbed her round belly, and sang a soft tune to her baby.
"You are my sunshine, my only sunshine, you make me happy when the skies are gray," she sang to their child.
"A lovely voice as usual," she turned slightly around in her seat to gaze into her loving Zell's eyes, they had met long ago and it was a hard battle to fight, but in the end everyone found happiness. All her friends from a while ago, Quistis, Rinoa, Squall, Irvine, the unstoppable team they were called, but that was so long ago, she thought. Rinoa found true love first, Squall of course was her man, and it broke Quistis's heart though, but she fell in love with a new professor at the garden, even Irvine found someone to settle down with.
"I was just thinking of the old times we had training and fighting," she said to Zell
"Oh ya? I guess it must be hard to be stuck here, while I am working all day, and I guess that lets you think a lot huh?" he said, taking a seat beside her
"Well it doesn't suck exactly to be cooped up here all the time, but it is almost time, I can tell, and yes you do get to think a lot, and also sing all the kid songs again." She giggled, and started chanting an old school song
"Enough enough," he laughed, he knew she was singing badly on purpose, "I hope your not going to sing that song when your friends are here.." he said
"Of course I will, what else can I do,"
"Ummmmm, well you could.. uh no, hmmmm maybe.. Nope, oh I don't know," he gave up
"Exactly!" she yelled
"Well, enough if this thinking, I have to leave to earn a living now," he bent down and kissed her belly, and the gently pressed his lips against hers
"Bye! Have fun at work!" she waved Now where is that Rinoa, she said she would come and keep me company…. I think I'll get out of this sun now she thought, slowly holding her belly, and using one arm to push off the chair she raised herself and started towards the door.
"Surprise!" Everyone yelled at once
"EKKK! Where'd you all come from?" she yelled, holding her belly
"Its your baby shower, now take a seat and enjoy the gifts, I know I sure would." Rinoa said looking around the room eyeing all the presents wrapped neatly.
Slowly she made her way leaning on Rinoa to the rocking chair, "This is from Squall and I," she informed her
"Its lovely," she said, sitting on the soft padding, "it will be great to sit here to just rock the baby to sleep."
The presents were piled at her feet, and kept coming, all she wanted to really do was lay down and sleep, but there were people here that expected her to be happy, I think this should be over soon, I hope she said to herself, silently praying.
"This one next," a girlfriend said placing a small box on my lap, it held a small diary decorated with flying baby angels.
"Excuse me everyone, I think I have to make a trip to the ladies room," Rinoa and Quistis got up to help me, she only made it half way before she collapsed nearly pulling the two helpers over, "Umm, I think we should leave, my water just broke."
