AN1: To those who find this story familiar, this is a reposting from my other name, KaiaSKye (to assure you that I'm not a plagiarist). Only reason for this was to deter certain snoops in my family who has no need to know every type of story that I write since they just wouldn't understand.
AN2Funny thing is that I need to ignore my own vows from now on because I can't pass on a good idea even if it is only a drabble. Thing is this was an excerpt that I cut out from a story because it didn't fit the storyline. I had thought of fitting it into another story, but this could almost fit well after almost any puppy-shipping story. In other words why wait so here it is.k

"Hey, Tris, I need ta know that you're okay with Seto and I after…well, you know."
The spike haired brunet sighed then turned to his friend with a slightly strained smile. "Yeah, Joey, I'm fine. I was just…shocked, ya know. After all you and Kaiba used to hate each other. Then he sorta became friends with us after the pharaoh left and well it's just a lot to take in to see him act that way with my best friend. You have to admit how random and sudden it was."
Joey shrugged. "He took a chance, Tris. Heck if I hadn't been so down maybe I woulda done the same. Sometimes the best things in life are random."
"Whatever. Come on we better start for class before Kaiba roasts me for you being late."
"Hey are you implying something about my boyfriend?"
"So are you saying there is something to imply? Cause if you are…oomph" Tristan's teasing turned into a pained gasp when he landed hard on the floor. Except that he also landed on something warm and…hard? What the h…?
"Dude I know you missed me, but do you think you could kinda get off?" Asked a nervous, yet curiously familiar voice.
"D-Duke?" Tristan muttered as his vision slowly cleared to reveal just what his head…erm face rested on and exactly what was…"Ah!"
Duke winced at his shocked scream then grabbed Tristan's collar to silence him only to find warm lips on his. He wasn't exactly sure how it happened, only that he kinda liked it. Unexpected feelings were realized in that kiss along with sudden confusion on Tristan's part. With a gasp Tristan pulled back and scrambled to his feet. Duke watched him run away with a dazed look of his own before realization dawned in his green eyes. Joey looked on in amusement when Duke ran after his friend then smirked. "Well that was interesting."
He started on his crutches and almost fell when the bell rang. "Damn it, I'm gonna be late!"

"Care to explain why you were late, Pup?" Kaiba drawled as he pulled Joey to him after school.
"Hmmm." Joey sighed as he enjoyed their kiss then chuckled softly. "Funny story actually, which I will tell you in full with Mokuba later, edited of course. In short, Tristan kissed Duke so I wouldn't be surprised if they confessed already."
"Interesting indeed." He murmured then leaned in for a deeper kiss until several coughs interrupted them…again.
"Get a room, you two." Téa scowled irritably.
"Just cause you aint getting some…" Joey teased, but broke off when her death glare intensified. "Geesh, what's your problem?"
"The teachers have it in for her." Yugi shrugged then said off-handedly. "And there's this rumor going around about Tristan and Duke kissing in the hallway."
"Wow, that got around fast." The blonde commented then winced at their explosive response.
"What?!" "It's true?"
"Uh yeah and I'm not exactly sure what happened, but I'll let Tristan and Duke tell you."
"Tell them what?" Duke asked innocently as they joined them.
"How you two got together." Kaiba smirked at their joined hands.
Tristan's face reddened when he noticed what he had noticed. "Erm, funny story."
"Yeah got that part with Joey's promise to tell me later." He laughed. "So what happened that warrants an edited version for my brother?"
"Well you see…" Duke started then told the story despite Tristan's protests.
Or at least until they got to the lap part when Téa interrupted. "I really don't want to hear this right now and I don't think Yugi should either."
Amethyst eyes rolled at her over-protectiveness. "Please, Téa, I'm not as naïve as everyone seems to think. For god's sake I had a mind-link with a 5,000 year old pharaoh for how many years?"
"Who would of thought that little Yugi would get a backbone." Duke remarked dryly.
"Bout as likely as Joey getting together with Kaiba." Tristan added.
"Or you two for that matter." Joey shot back.
"True. Anyway…" Duke huffed then returned to their story.
The small group of friends received many odd looks by students as they cautiously passed by, when the friends burst into laughter. It would appear that someone had a sense of humor to set such unlikely couples together in such an interesting way. There have been rumors, but one thing was for certain…random things happen and it isn't always a bad thing.
