Idea I thought of while doing quest Bait and Switch. I may or may not continue these drabbles depending on inspiration.

"Gone. I had hoped... no, it doesn't matter any longer. I assume Danarius left valuables behind. Take them if you wish. I... need some air."

He wasn't there! Just a dusty old house filled with cobwebs, traps, and the dead. All the years he hurt me but never killed me because I was too precious even though I wanted to die so many times and he won't even face me himself! He sends weak demons and shades to do it!
I'm pacing back and forth with fury just thinking of all those years and this is what I get. I make myself sick thinking these thoughts, that after all these years I should not care that he does not think me important enough to see me but I do. And that makes me just want to pull out my hair and scream bloody murder and-
I hear the mansion door open.
I lean against the wall, look straight ahead, take a deep breath, and start thanking my helpers, even if one is a mage, and I will make sure they know how that displeases me.
"It never ends. I escaped a land of dark magic, only to have it hunt me at every turn. It is a plague burned into my flesh and my soul. And now I find myself in the company of yet-"
I turn my head to look at the group and see that the mage is wearing Danarius's hat.
His Slaver Lord Cowl. His favorite hat.
"What are you wearing?"
The mage, who seems to be the leader of this group of mercenaries, replies, "It's a hat, duh."
I walk up to her. "Obviously, but why are you wearing it?" I ask.
The dwarf interrupts, "A hat fetish, eh?"
"No, I do not have a hat fetish! That is just... the most ridiculous mage hat I have ever seen!" How do I explain to these people my hatred for that hat?
The mage answers, "If you think this is ridiculous, you should see the hats mages in Fereldan wear. I feel sorry for them, really. And also, this is the best hat I've come across and you said I could loot the place!"
"Yes, well, I did say that and I thank you for the help though I may seem ungrateful. If so, I apologize, for nothing could be further from the truth," I say, with nothing better to come up with about that hateful hat.
The mage looks at me for a second thinking about this and says, "I accept your apology. Now, apologize to the hat."
"What!"
"You heard me," she says, "It's just a poor defenseless hat trying to make its way in the world with such shortcomings as being a mage hat and you yell at it."
I'm not sure she's talking entirely about the hat.
"That hat is far from defenseless."
"You hurt it's feelings."

I walk past her, giving a pouch of money to the dwarf. I go up to the mansion door and before entering say, "I owe you a debt. There is all the coin I have, as Anso promised. I shall stay here. Should you find yourself in need of assistance, I offer my services. But I will not apologize to that hat." I then enter the mansion and finally get away from that crazy mage.

"What's up his arse?" Hawke asks.
Varric and Carver just look at her.
