This is currently a one-shot I may expand on it, if I get enough reviews. It was a little drabble I wrote while re-watching The Unbearable Like-likeness of Gene.
2000
The Hospital
"Miss Reed? Are you sure you to give up your baby? " the doctor asked holding the blissful bairn bundled in the pink blanket.
" Oh, Doc! I can't be a mother " the 17-year-old Gretchen cried, using all her willpower to convince herself that the baby would be better off without her.
I need to give her, her best chance, Gretchen closed her eyes as they carted her baby to an orphanage,willing herself to not accept the baby into her life of hardship and poverty, or face the world as a dumb, reckless, teenage mother.Surely someone will adopt her.
Adoption Agency
" Mr. and Mrs. Wheeler? We have a child, you may like to adopt " The agency lady called.
" Doug! We need to go to the orphanage! Now! " Beth screamed at her husband. The Wheelers, after 7 years of trying for a baby, were resigned to adoption as their only hope of a child. They sped off to the orphanage to meet this poor baby girl.
The young couple fawned over the brown-eyed beauty at the orphanage.
" Doug! She's perfect. We need to adopt this poor baby " Beth cried, tears of joy streaked her face as they carried their bundle of bliss home.
