Part one: First Encounter.

John was getting tired of it all. He was an American scientist working at Halley Station, in Antarctica, studying diseases. He hated his job. He hated everyone he worked for, and almost everyone he worked with, because none of them listened to his ideas(actually, they did, but they stole his ideas, and took the credit for them). But not enough to kill anyone. No, no, he would leave that to themselves... and maybe the virus would hurry them along, he thought as he fumbled with the lock on the lab door.

Linda, one of John's fellow scientists, was worried about him. "Maybe he's in the lab", she thought. So she went looking for him. Mistake number one. She didn't tell anyone. Mistake number two. She entered the lab. Mistake number three. Three strikes. "John, are you in here?", she asked. John turned quickly. "What are you doing here? Get out of here. Now!", he said. "Is something wrong, John?". "I told you to leave. Now, go." "Why?" He had an idea. "The test subject has escaped." He wasn't lying, technically it had escaped, if only partially. "What? How?" "I let it out." "WHAT?" "Good-bye, Linda." You're out. It's funny, she was the only one I really liked, he thought.

Test Subject #398 was hungry. It wandered outside.
Sean was the first to notice that John and Linda were missing, and that the subject was also missing, when he found the lab door open.
It was rather annoying to wake up to the sound of a zombie breaking down your door, Bill thought. But, of course, the sound of anything breaking down one's door would not be conducive to the state of a sleeping person. He bolted upright in his cot. This was what he was trained for. He ran to the gun cabinet and grabbed his Remington 887 Nitro Mag Tactical shotgun.
TS398 shambled up the stairs.
Bill loaded 2 shells into the shotgun.
