Authoress' Note: This is just a very small drabble to see how well I could do with Danny Phantom and if I was comfortable enough to embark with a larger project. I ended up liking it enough to post it on here.
PS: For you people out there still waiting for my other fic to be update, fear not! I haven't forgotten about Golden Mayhem (a Sonic the Hedgehog fic). I'm just a lil bit stuck with it, but I haven't stopped it.
A Night in the Park
A Danny Phantom fanfiction
By Az The Dragon
The whistle resounded through the park's night air, clear and long, echoing for several long seconds once the boy had stopped. His head turned left and right, emerald green eyes, shining with unspoken power, scanning the darkness while his white hair swayed into the light breeze.
"Cujo!"
The boy floated a few inches from the ground, his white booted feet gaining freedom from the grass wet with condensed humidity, waiting.
Cujo wasn't exactly his dog, but after the whole Axiom incident everyone thought he was, and even if he always returned the ghost dog back to the ghost zone, the puppy that could transform into a hell-spawn-like dog monstrosity always managed to return to him to play more, or just be in his company.
In the end, Cujo had really become Danny Phantom's dog even if the Ghost Boy did say otherwise.
"Cujo!"
His voice echoed into the cool air of spring again, and this time it was soon followed by faint rustles that became louder as the ghost dog ran back to him, his favored pinkish-purple squishy toy in its small mouth. Despite himself, Danny landed back onto the ground and smiled as his dog quickly rushed up the hill he was standing on with a happy gleam in his red eyes.
Even if he knew that he shouldn't be out and in one place for long because of all the ghost hunters, his parents included, patrolling the city, the boy laughed heartily as he watched Cujo jump into the air and land on his chest, almost throwing him onto the ground. Even when small, the puppy still had a rather fearsome strength...
"You found it? Well done, boy!" He paused and looked down at the ghost dog in his arms, smile still wide. "You want me to throw it again?"
The response of the dog was a muffled bark and a wagging tail as he released his favorite toy into his new owner's arms and jumped back onto the ground, barking louder and waiting to run again.
Danny laughed again, softly this time, and reared his arm back, the squishy in his hand, "Go fetch it, Cujo!" he said as he flung the toy down the hill, the green puppy hot on its trail and barking merrily and earning another amused laugh from the Ghost Boy.
Danny Phantom knew that he shouldn't stay in the park long, but as he watched the ghostly figure screech to a halt, grab something from the ground and run back towards him, he couldn't help but enjoy the peace ghosts and ghosts hunters alike had unconsciously granted him that night.
