Kyuubi – A Narrative Essay

AN: Hey all. Here's something I found while cleaning my old school folder. Wrote it for matric English class. It's unedited from when I handed it in.

My name is Kyuubi; it means 'Nine-tailed demon fox'. I am quite possibly the most powerful creature on this planet. Unfortunately a number of years ago I was sealed inside of a baby to prevent me destroying the village of Konoha. I will be trapped for a while but I am immortal and time means nothing to me. When I escape I will utterly obliterate Konoha and every last inhabitant of this place. This is how I came to be confined…

I am a destroyer, I have no need for anything, nor is there anything I want. I obtained pleasure from killing people; they formed villages and trained their 'great' ninja warriors. I proved how futile their powers actually were. Everyone feared me. I towered over even their greatest constructions, my nine red-brown tails capable of crushing buildings in a single swipe. Then they would run out and either try to escape or fight me. Few escaped and none survived a fight. How could they? Even my fangs are larger than they were and I could kill them purely by using my chakra; my spirit energy.

I traveled a lot and learned that a new village had been created a few years previously. It was reputed to be populated by some of the strongest and most talented ninja in the land. This village was named Konoha or Leaf after the great forests that surrounded it. I immediately decided to destroy it before I would rest for a few years.

I attacked at night, my tails striking the ground and raising large clouds of dust while my claws tore the trees into splinters. The full moon shone down on my fur making me totally visible, exactly as I wanted. Ninja rushed out to defend their village. I easily beat them off, sending them flying and occasionally snapping them up and swallowing them whole. They were shouting about waiting for the Hokage. I didn't know who the Hokage was but I was confident he would be no match for me. Suddenly to my right I felt a great surge of chakra and knew it must have come from this Hokage I had been hearing about. I was disappointed that he was merely another human but slightly impressed. The chakra surge I had felt had been his as he summoned Gamabunta, the Frog Lord. Although the Hokage was only a small speck on Gamabunta's head the frog seemed to respect him. I just snarled defiantly at him. Even with Gamabunta's help he should realize he couldn't save the village from me, no one could. Still he opposed me and then did something I never suspected. He used a high powered technique designed for killing an opponent much stronger than yourself. Basically you summon the God of Death and offer him your soul, then you drag your opponent's soul out and it is also taken. Both people are killed and there is no way to stop it, unless you can prevent your soul being sucked out. The Hokage sacrificed his soul to try and kill me. Although it failed in killing me my soul was still taken and needed to be kept away from the village. The Hokage sealed me inside a new-born boy.

It is rather maddening being locked away like this. I'm in a dark part of the boy's soul behind massive iron bars held, frustratingly, by one tiny, unbreakable seal. A good thing for both me and the boy is the fact that over the years the seal has weakened. When Jinchuriki, the boy I'm possessing, was in mortal danger I was able to lend him some of my chakra. This greatly increased his power and saved his life. Don't get me wrong I don't care about the boy but we are now bound together, if he dies I die; and I haven't destroyed Konoha…yet.
