The adventurer awoke with an start, their eyes wide and terrified. Once they calmed down, they brought their hands up to their shining orbs, wiping away the tears that resided there. It was the dream.
The dream was always the same. It was when they and the Scions were fleeing from Ul'dah, the adventurer then losing their friends one by one. The adventurer closed their eyes, bringing back vivid memories of the last time they saw the Scions. Yda and Papalymo giving them time by taking on the Brass Blades and Crystal Braves on the Royal Promenade. Y'shtola and Thancred staying behind to take down the same in the secret passageway. Minfilia going back to them, ordering for the adventure to keep going, which they did reluctantly. But in the dream, as the adventurer ran, they passed by the Scions' lifeless and battered bodies, unable to stop and aid them.
The adventurer refused to think of them as lost, surely Hydaelyn would have told them if that were true. Right... ? They then sighed as they wiped away the last of their tears. What would the Scions say if they saw the adventurer like this? Papalymo and Y'shtola would berate them, telling them to keep moving on even though it is painful. Yda and Thancred would tell the adventurer to cheer up, as they have not seen the last of them. Minfilia would tell them that they are Eorzea's light, that if they were to burn out, so would Eorzea's.
The adventurer smiled a bit. They would keep moving on. Alphinaud, Tataru, and them would be on the next airship going to Ishgard the next day. After all, they had many people that were counting on them to bring Eorzea back from the darkness, and into the light.

To preserve the dawn's light, they would journey north, their hearts filled with hope and eyes fixed Heavensward.

Dat ending doe... Have an box of tissues near you when you watch the last of ARR cut scenes. They break you heart into itty bitty pieces. I don't know why I really wrote this...
