The Path Taken

The paths laid out before us lead to one of two places…heaven or hell. It's fairly obvious which path I chose. In one moment, a single instant of time, I gave in to weakness and chose the easiest, quickest path open before me.

Would I take it back? Would I choose differently? Probably not. The end result would've been the same regardless of the choices made that one fateful night. Destiny, I believe, is decided before our birth.

Am I content? It is, I think, a moot point. On the road to power I gave up all rights to peace and happiness. I traded my soul and received hell in return. Now all that is left to me, the only path left open, is to wait for the one who desires power more than I did. All there is left is to wait…and die.
