Glasses

"You got glasses?" Sumire asked, trying her best to suppress her laughter.

"Shut up. I need them, okay? I can barely read anything Jinno writes on the board anymore," Koko pouted.

"You look stupid," Sumire said, looking back down at the book she was reading.

Koko wore an irritated look, hoping to get sympathy from Sumire, but no luck; she had her nose buried in the novel in her hands.

"Do they really look that bad?" Koko frowned. "I mean, they fit my face better than the round ones I tried on. You should've seen those, I looked like an old man." Koko laughed. He looked at Sumire, but unfortunately, she seemed to be more interested in the book.

"Have you ever wondered what you'd look like with glasses, Sumire?" Koko grinned. "Let's see!" He took his glasses off and put them on Sumire.

"Get off of me!" Sumire pushed him away.

"Geez. I just wanted to see," Koko mumbled to himself. "Grumpy pants."

His last statement earned him an irritated look, and he couldn't help but feel down. Not only did he receive insults form her, but now she was mad at him as well.

"If it helps, I guess I do look stupid wearing the glasses," he said in defeat. "And I'm sorry for bothering you," he looked at Sumire from the corner of his eye, but she was still engrossed in her book.

"And I'm sorry for pissing you off by calling you grumpy pants. I guess I'm just that annoying, I can't even control the words that come out of my mouth," he continued. "Plus, I bet you'd still look beautiful even with glasses."

Sumire sighed. "If anything, I'm glad you won't have to bump into walls and posts anymore. And your glasses look fine. Geez."

"Ha!" Koko looked at Sumire and his face instantly lit up, "I knew I'd get to you!" He laughed.

When Koko thought he got the last laugh, he felt a heavy book drop on his head.

"Douchebag," Sumire said and walked away.

The pain that built up in his stomach from laughing couldn't compare to the throbbing pain on his head; but neither of the two hurt more than insults from the girl that could make him smile even after having hit him on the head with a book.

End.
