The Day They Were Exposed

It was biology class again and Bella and Edward were giving their oral report on some totally boring thing that only they would understand and they were suddenly interrupted by a siren that came over the intercom that meant their was an intruder.

"Everybody make an orderly exit to the cafeteria." Their teacher said quickly, greeted by a stampede to the door.

All the five hundred students were packed silently into the cafeteria except for the occasional murmur or two. The Cullens' gathered together and they hung around the table by Angela, Ben, Eric, Mike and the rest of Bella's buddies.

"What do you think is going on?" Rosalie said, looking around silently.

"I bet the world's being taken over by crazed vampires and we're all gonna die!!!" Mike yelled, hanging onto Angela's legs.

Edward looked at Bella, "Crazed vampires, huh? Hear those are dangerous."

"Don't act like that's real. I just made that up." Mike waved his hands in the air.

"Things aren't always what they seem, Michael." Alice said, with a hard stare.

Then Mrs. Lynch, the office staff ran in with ten left over students from the hall, "Everybody, stay calm. This is not a drill. Just stay quiet and still." Everyone froze and Mr. Turner slid a dark sheet of red construction paper under the door to show the circling police that they were safe for now.

There was a gunshot outside and everybody got down under a table out of instinct, except for the Cullens' who stood up taller, straighter, "Get down!" Bella whispered, pulling at Jasper's khakis from underneath a table by Angela.

"I know these people. They're not people." Emmett whispered, shoving Rosalie and Alice behind himself protectively, "Laurent, James and Victoria." He said

"Cullens'. Down!" Mrs. Lynch whispered teachers were spread among the table, standing, protecting the children. With no reply or action, Mrs. Lynch whispered, "DETENTION. ALL OF YOU!!!"

Emmett looked out the window and saw Victoria look at Alice's car, and Victoria dragged an over length nail across the side of the yellow Porsche. Alice looked out the window, "MY CAR!!!" she yelled, her eyes turning black. Emmett, Edward, and Jasper grabbed a hold of her, "My Porsche!"

"Calm down, pixie." Jasper whispered in her ear, "It's alright, I'll get it fixed."

"Thanks Jazzy. Let's go!" they all ran out the door and outside. They were met in the parking lot by the wolves and Carlisle and Esme.

"Why are you causing havoc to our schoolmates?" Emmett asked calmly, taking his position in front of Rosalie and Alice and Carlisle stepped in front of Esme as they encountered Victoria and James, "I suggest you leave or we will be forced to take immediate action."

"I'm really scared of a bunch of highschoolers and Mommy and Daddy." Victoria said, smiling evilly.

"What happened chief?" James asked, turning to Carlisle, "You have to tell the boss Emmett was in another accident?"

"That is very personal, James. It does not concern you. Now, I'm going to have to ask you again to step down, please. These children simply want to get back to school."

"And I'm sure little old Esme hear has to back to the knitting club, right?" James said, giving a tormenting glance to Jasper.

Jasper shown his fangs, "That tears it." He propelled himself into the air and landed on James' back, "Come on old man. Show me what you got!"

Emmett looked over at where Laurent stood beside Emmett's Jeep. He looked at the car for a moment and the tore off the door in one swift movement, "MY CAR!!!" Emmett screeched and Carlisle and Esme fought with Emmett to keep him restrained, "Laurent…must…DIE!" he yelled slashing free.

"Alice, Rosalie, be very careful."
