A/N: I was half way through colouring in a picture on SAI of an older more human version of Jeanette(as I haven't done any chipmunk fanart in a while) when this idea popped into my head, it's not much but I hope you like it :)

"So Jeanette" Simon started as he looked at his social studies partner, "do you know what you want to be when you grow up?" he asked out of mild curiosity.

Their teacher had been lecturing them about the importance of knowing what direction they would like to take once their older and able to make such decisions', Mrs. Colbert had stressed to a point to the whole class that they should have some kind of inkling by now as to where they'd like to be in ten years time.

Simon had been surprised that more than half the class had raised their hands when Mrs. Colbert had asked for a show of hands for those who were uncertain about what they wanted to be when they were older. He was not surprised however to find that he was one of the few who put their hands up when asked if anyone had a clear indication of where they wanted to be.

He was taken aback when he realised that Jeanette had not put her hand up for either question, it was only natural for him to ask.

Jeanette turned to him, and bit her lip. It wasn't a very easy question to answer; did she know what she wanted to be? Yes, of course. Would she attain such a goal? She was more than likely too, and would she become so in ten years time? Most definitely, she did after all have the potential.

It wasn't that she was unsure, because she was very sure indeed; it was all the other things that she hoped to do as well, she didn't have just one idea of where she'd like to be, she had many.

She wanted to be more confident in herself, more outgoing such to the point where she could finally stand up for herself without Ellie or Brittany standing up for her, or not letting Brittany bring her down.

She wanted to be more graceful and less clumsy ad more focused, she wanted to get rid of her glasses even though she was too near-sighted for contacts, she wanted to learn how to apply make-up and be beautiful rather than merely pretty all the time.

She wanted to be mature, but to retain her childlike demeanour at the same time, she wanted to help Simon o cure cancer because she knew that one day he would, he'd just need someone to cheer him on when it became too difficult.

She wanted to go to a top university and get a degree in literature; she wanted to become a novelist, to write books for both adults and children alike, she wanted to be the best out there so she could win a Noble Prize and have something other than pile of manuscripts to show her dedication to her writing.

She wanted to be a lover, a wife and a mother. She wanted to be a good friend and a fantastic sister-in-law and she wanted to be fun auntie Jeanie.

She wanted to re-release old hits from the Chipette days with her sisters, because no matter how different they all were and how far apart they separate paths would take them her sisters would always be her best friends, her confidents.

There was no one way to go about Simon's question, not really, but she smiled and gave him the only answer she could really give, "I want to be...somebody different."

Simon knew that without a doubt that one day she would be the best Jeanette she could be, and he'd be there for her every step of the way.

A/N: I'm not too happy with the ending but I spent way to long on trying to make it better, soo yeah...hope you liked it, thanks for reading and please reveiw ^_^
