Summary: Tony's thoughts after everyone except Nebula and he are gone from Titan.

Author's note: I saw Infinity War less than 12 hours ago and I'm already writing this. It was utterly amazing. To be honest, I didn't think they would be able to make the movie itself that good with all the characters, but marvel surprised me once again.

For MNIC fans, don't worry! Chapter will be out in the next week or so, but Infinity War just ripped my heart out so expect a delay.

Gone.

Gone gone gone gone.

Crumbled into dust. All of them. That weird red head who thought he knew everything, the bug girl…

Peter.

Tony felt a tear fall down his face. I should have never brought a kid into all of this. He may still be alive if I hadn't—

Would he though? Tony argued with himself. He still would've crumbled to dust, wouldn't he?

Tony took a deep breath. There's always a way.

He was Tony fucking Stark. He could fix this.

Not when he was against someone who was wielding the six infinity stones.

Tony let out a scream. A completely and utterly gut-wrenching scream. Peter was gone. And probably most of his friends, for that matter.

"He won." Tony whipped his head around to see that blue woman behind him. He'd completely forgot about her. "He just murdered half of the universe. He got what he wanted."

Tony didn't know what to say. What could he say? From what he picked up from Starlord, the blue girl was Gamora's sister, who was murdered by Thanos to get the soul stone.

"There's always a way." God, that was something Steve would say. "Even when it seems completely hopeless, there's always some way to win."

"And what makes you so sure of that? He wields unimageable power, and you think we can still win with half the universe gone?"

Suddenly, Tony remembered what Strange had said.

It had to be this way. We're in the endgame now.

Why would Strange sacrifice the stone for Tony? He said that he would choose the stone over them in a heartbeat, and Strange isn't the kind of guy who would change his mind within a few hours.

Sure, he might've had a change of heart, but Tony highly doubted it. The universe was way more important than two lives.

That's not how a genius works.

We're in the endgame now.

Strange knew it had to be tis way. He looked through millions of outcomes, and this is what he chose.

He knew Starlord would prevent the defeat of Thanos no matter what. He knew that half the universe would crumble to dust.

It was the only way.

For the first time today, Tony smiled.

He stood up on shaky legs. At first, he felt like he was going to vomit, but it passed. He walked up to the only person left on this planet until he was a foot away from her.

There was despair and loss in her eyes. She had lost her sister.

"I'm not sure about anything anymore, but I know we can still beat him." Tony was surprised at how certain he sounded.

"How do you figure we do that?"

Tony took a shaky breath and answered,

"Because we're in the endgame now."
