When John had arrived back at the flat after shopping for groceries he was surprised to find his flatmate perched on top of the telly. What was really surprising was that it should be know surprise to find Sherlock Holmes on top of the television set. John gave Sherlock a curious look but said nothing, but obviously his thoughts were too loud.
"Shut up, I'm trying to think" Sherlock told him, not moving from his spot, he was staring directly at a plain wall with nothing on it, and John had trouble figuring out how that might help him think.
"Yes, I gathered that much" John's face had a small smile on it, Sherlock rolled his eyes in annoyance but continued to face towards the wall. "Well, are you getting down?" asked John.
"I told you, I'm thinking" Sherlock told him, John pinched the skin between his eyes.
"And you can't think with your feet on the ground?" asked John crossing his arms.
"It is a significantly less efficient to think on the ground" Sherlock explained eyes still fixated on the wall in front of them. Finally Sherlock allowed himself a quick glance at John whom eyebrows were raised as if to say 'Are you kidding me?'
"You think I'm being childish" Sherlock observed.
"Nope" said John "I think you're being yourself" a tiny smile creeped on to Sherlock's face.
"Did you make the tea I asked you to?" asked Sherlock as John went to go put the food away.
"I thought you might have" said John half joking.
"Now's not the time to be stupid John, I need tea!" said Sherlock.
"Do you want to know what I think?" asked John poking his head back into the living room.
"Not particularly" was Sherlock's response, John ignored him.
"I think your afraid of trying new things, your just like Sadie and Maddy" John decided.
"Who?" asked Sherlock now sounding slightly bored by this useless conversation.
"These two girls my sister used to baby-sit, they wouldn't try anything new" John explained.
"You're comparing me to two little girls?" asked Sherlock astounded.
"In their defence they were pretty cute little girls" John told him, sounding slightly smug.
"It makes no difference the appearance of the girls, I have no similarities to two little girls!" exclaimed Sherlock.
"I don't think you have the right to be upset" John told him
"What do you mean?" asked Sherlock
"Well yes you are being compared to two little girls, but think of it from their perspective, they are being compared to you, how do you think they feel about that?"
"You're just trying to confuse me now" accused Sherlock
"And insulting you in the process, being near you must be making me more clever" John smiled, Sherlock sighed and calmed himself down.
"And what exactly has been the point of this little debate?" asked Sherlock
"Well, you're off the television set aren't you" John laughed and went to put the rest of the food away. Sherlock was surprised to see that, in fact, he had gotten off the Telly. In the midst of arguing with his flat mate he had just hopped off, he glared at the empty doorway where John had previously stood.
"So, do you want earl grey tea?" John called from the kitchen
