LONG DISTANCE BOYFRIEND

AUTHOR'S NOTE/DISCLAIMER

Yeah, I know it's late. Got the idea after "A Day In The Life" aired. Takes place after the events of my story "Kin". Power Rangers belongs to Haim Saban and Nickelodeon. Flashpoint belongs to CBS and whoever else is affiliated with it. Even though Jules is Kimberly, I'm using Jules in the narration.

Everyone groaned as they traipsed back into headquarters.

"Okay, it's official, I hate Valentine's Day," their newest recruit, Rafik "Raf" Rousseau, declared.

"Oh, come on. It's not so bad," Sam Braddock declared.

"Are you kidding me? What about all the calls we just handled?" Raf demanded.

"Just part of the job," Kimberly Hart aka Julianna "Jules" Callaghan told him.

"Speaking of Valentine's Day, Jules you got a package here. It's on your desk," their dispatcher, Winnie Camden, stated.

"What? Here? Are you sure?" Jules asked in surprise. Why wouldn't it be sent to my place? she wondered.

"Did you have the package checked out?" their Unit Chief, Ed Lane, queried.

"At least…I think it's to her. I'm not really sure since it said 'To Ptera from Dragon'," Winnie responded with a look of confusion. Then, "Yeah. There was no traces of anything dangerous."

"That's definitely mine," Jules stated. It's from Tommy! He sent me something! she realized and dashed towards her desk. Sgt. Gregory Parker and Mike "Spike" Scarlatti glanced at each other and then shook their heads.

"I don't get it," Raf said.

"Her boyfriend," Sam answered, his eyes clouding.

"She has a boyfriend named Dragon who gets her name wrong?" Raf queried. Not much of a boyfriend, he thought. Before the guys could say anything else, Jules let out a shriek of surprise and they all ran up to her.

"Jules, what is it?" Sam asked urgently. To their surprise she held up two silver bracelets-one that had a green dragon, a white tiger, a pink pterodactyl, and a pink firebird-and another which had a white falcon and a pink crane-for all to see.

"He got them all," she said happily.

"All what?" Raf? questioned.

"Oh, my boyfriend and I are nuts for certain types of animals and prehistoric creatures. He got them all," Jules replied. She laughed and put the bracelets on. Raf looked at Sam in confusion.

"I thought she was your girl," he said.

"No, Sam and I are just friends," came the response. Sam's face crumpled a bit, but he quickly hid the expression. At least they were still friends. Then, Jules pulled out her cell phone and started dialing a number. Raf watched as she walked out of the room. Once she was alone, Jules focused all of her attention to her call.

"Hello?" a groggy voice asked.

"Oh, sorry. Forgot about the time difference," Kimberly apologized.

"No, no. It's fine," Tommy assured her. "Did my gifts get there in time?"

"They sure did." Tommy grinned even though he knew his girlfriend couldn't see him. "And I love them. I just don't know you managed to get the colors."

"My brother, David."

"Oh, that's right. You were telling me about them." Jules grinned as she thought about Tommy's biological family. That must've been so great for him, she thought.

"And I like your gifts as well." Jules' smiles widened even though she knew he couldn't see it.

"Thanks. I was hoping you would."

"Of course I would. You made them."

"Well, I haven't painted in years."

"Everything came out great." Jules grinned and the two continued to talk. The girl let out a happy sigh. I love Valentine's Day, she thought.
