Hinata just watched Neji as he climbed the tree and sat on a tree branch.
"Well Hinata? What are you waiting for? Come on!" Neji's voice made her heart pound.
He wanted her to climb the tree and sit in the tree with him? Was he insane?
They were only children, yet Neji was energized and ready to do just about anything; he wasnt that serious boy that he would be as a young adult.
"Hinata? Come on! please? You're not scared are you?" Neji stuck out his tongue, making Hinata slightly annoyed, but slightly amused by how cute he was.
"Fine, I'm coming up." Hinata said with a sigh.
Hinata took note on how large the tree was, and how high Neji was, before climbing the tree.
"We're pretty high up.."
"Don't worry Hinata.. I'm here.. We won't fall." Neji said, still smiling. "Beautiful huh?"
"Ehhh yeah.." Hinata tried to smile, Neji was speaking of the sunset, though she didn't know until he said so.
"The sunset ain't as beautiful without someone with you though you know."
Hinata blushed, so that was why he wanted her up here? In the tree? With him?
"Neji you're insane.. Why didn't you just call TenTen up here?"
"Because, she would be too scared. You however just came up here without no hesitation."
"W-well I uh.." Hinata was shocked at how he still chose her over Ten Ten.
"And besides, who else is better than my beautiful cousin?"
"Oh.."
He chose her just because she was his cousin.. She hadn't noticed the attachment beautiful, just the word cousin. It upset her and he noticed her tears.
"Hinata?"
"I'm not just your cousin you know!" Hinata felt herself unable to speak with her breath caught in her throat.
"Hinata? Are you okay?" He had a concerned look on his face. He seemed serious at this moment and was worried.
"And-and if I wasn't your cousin then you would've chose Ten Ten!" Hinata was out of control at this point, she was about ready to jump off of the tree branch they were sitting on.
"H-Hinata.. Maybe you didn't notice this before.. Or.. Maybe you didn't notice at all.. But I like you.."
Hinata bit her lip, did Neji just confess?
"I was going to tell you sooner but.. I got scared.. Family members aren't supposed to love eachother that way.."
"Well.. I love you too.. Neji." Hinata couldn't help but smile. He had loved her the whole time. But she hadn't realized it.
