"15th April," Hades said suddenly to Zelena.
"What?" Zelena asked, staring at him. "I'm not an idiot, I know that's today's date."
"It's your birthday," He told her, but she couldn't find the words to reply. She could only stare at him in amazement. He actually cared enough to find out. No one had ever done that. "Happy birthday." Zelena's eyes began to swell with tears.
"I-I don't know what to say," She said to him. "No one's ever tried to find out."
"Well I did," Hades replied, smiling at her. "And I believe I have a present for you."
"This was a present enough," Zelena told him, leaning in for a kiss.
"I've booked us a table at Granny's," Hades told her. "And now we're not in the underworld, I can give you something that really grows." He pulled out from behind his back a single rose. "Happy birthday Zelena." She smiled, taking the rose.
"Thank you,"
"Shall we go?" Hades asked Zelena, holding his arm out for her to take. She smiled and linked arms with him and in a puff of smoke they arrived at Granny's. Hades let her to their table where there was a cupcake with a single candle in.
"No more abandonment days," Zelena smiled, blowing the candle out. "I love you. How did you find out?"
"I... persuaded your mother to tell me when she first arrived in the underworld." Hades told her as she offered him a bite from the cupcake.
