It was a beautiful day in Ponyville. The sun was bright, and the birds were singing. A young boy named Spike was walking into the town square. He wasn't in a happy mood. His caretaker/mother/sister had sent him to pick up a mile-long list worth of food for a party she was having for her friends. Spike wasn't paying attention to where he was going and bumped into someone.
"Ouch," said the person. Spike saw that it was one of his friends.
"Sorry Sweetie Belle," Spike apologized. He helped her up back to her feet.
"That's ok Spike. How are you today?" she asked. Her and Spike have been friends for a while. He was also friends with her other two friends. A few days ago, Spike began to realize that he had a crush on her. He then realized that it wasn't a crush, but he was in love with her. The reason he didn't make a move is because 1) he wasn't sure how she felt and 2) he had the dreaded dragon DNA. That was one thing that he didn't like. Years ago, he was kidnapped and forced to have dragon DNA to help one Empire fight another. When he was rescued, he was given to Twilight Sparkle to take care of him. Sweetie Belle saw that Spike was sad and began to think of a way to cheer him up.
'I wonder what's wrong with him. He's usually very happy,' thought Sweetie Belle. She also loved him, but was afraid of how he felt, and thought that he liked her sister. 'I know what will cheer him up,' She grabbed Spike's hand and dragged him to a carnival that was taking place. They soon bumped into their friends. Applebloom and Scootaloo were both their trying to figure out what to do when they grow-up. All four ran around having a great time. Spike won a teddy bear that he gave to Sweetie Belle. Sweetie Belle gave him a kiss as a thank you. They were waiting for the next ride when they saw something. It was something brand new. Princess Luna walked up to the four.
"How are you four today?" she asked.
"Good," they replied.
"What's that?" asked Applebloom.
"Something brought in from the Imperial Empire. It's called the Tunnel of Love," replied Luna. Scootaloo decided to play a few more games and Applebloom went to the food stands. Spike and Sweetie Belle stayed with Luna and got on the ride. The boats were in the shape of a heart, and the tunnel looked weird with all the pink around it. Luna started the ride and the boat went into the darkness. When they were in, they were amazed by what they saw. It was filled with romantic things like hearts, candies, and roses. Spike found himself putting an arm around Sweetie Belle's shoulder. She in turn, put her head against him. Spike and Sweetie Belle soon found the courage to tell the other how they felt. The only problem is that they both spoke at the same time.
"I have something to tell you," they said at once. They laughed for a minute before trying again. This time, Sweetie went first.
"Spike, for a while I've been having these weird feelings for you. I soon found out what they were. Spike, I love you," she said.
"I feel the same," Spike said. They soon hugged and shared their first kiss. When the ride was over, they ran into their friends who were able to figure out what happened due to the smiles on their faces. Spike then remembered the list of things to get.
"Don't worry Spike, we'll help you," the three girls said at once. The four of them left the carnival to get the food. Spike began to think to himself.
'This is a great day after all, what could ruin my life now'. He thought. Little did he know, he would soon find out.
