Dean sat outside in the dark, his back to the bunker. He had his eyes closed and his earbuds stuffed into his ears. He could almost block out the world. The only thing on his mind was the soft sweet sound of the music playing.

Lying beside you here in the dark Feeling your heart beat with mine Softly you whisper, you're so sincere How could our love be so blind?

It had been nearly an hour since he had walked outside and settled down. Suddenly a light appeared, barely visible behind his closed lids. He opened his eyes and turned his head. In the doorway, illuminated by the light of the entrance hall, stood Castiel. He took a step forward, his outline glowing with the light, now behind him. Dean removed an earbud. "May I join you?" Cas asked. The hunter waved his hand, beckoning him over. Cas arranged himself next to his friend and took the earbud from his offering hand.

We sailed on together We drifted apart And here you are by my side.

They sat close together, shoulders touching. Dean closed his eyes again as he let out a deep breath. He'd always loved this song. He couldn't remember the first time he'd heard it. Now that Cas was back, he could finally relax.

So now I come to you with open arms Nothing to hide, believe what I say So here I am with open arms Hoping you'll see what your love means to me, open arms

Cas leaned in a little closer to dean. Something about this song comforted him. He could hear his companion begin to hum softly along with the music, and when he looked over at him, he saw the corners of his mouth turned up in a small smile. He loved seeing Dean happy like this. For the first time in a long time, his friend looked almost content. Soon he too, closed his eyes and concentrated on the music and the words accompanying it. He could see why dean liked this song so much.

Living without you, living alone This empty house seems so cold Wanting to hold you, wanting you near How much I wanted you home

Dean opened his eyes again and looked at Cas, his tiny smile spreading. His trench coat was worn from travel and his tie was even move crooked than usual. It seemed no matter how many times he tied it, he never got any better. He looked thinner than usual. As he pulled his coat tighter around himself with a shiver, dean noticed it wrapped around him farther than it normally did. Nonetheless Castiel looked happy. He must have felt Dean staring at him. He looked over and caught his eye. Their gaze lingered for a moment before the hunter pulled away. He got to his feet, and extended a hand down to Cas. Cas looked up, a confused look on his face, before taking the outstretched hand and standing up. Dean pulled their bodies closer together and placed his hand on the other mans waist. Cas seemed to get the idea, and they swayed together, to the calming tune of the music.

But now that you've come back Turned night into day I need you to stay

Their eyes met and Dean smiled shyly at him before closing the diminishing gap between them and pressing his lips to Castiel's. "I'm glad your back" he murmured when he pulled away.

So now I come to you with open arms Nothing to hide, believe what I say So here I am with open arms Hoping you'll see what your love means to me, open arms
