Hi. So I'm still working on the other stories, but I felt like putting up this oneshot. Um… have you ever wonder how Shikamaru began to talk? Well this is what I think… This takes place in Shippuden. When you finish with the story, please read the AN on the bottom.

Another day, another troublesome training session. The only good thing that happened was that Asuma left early to meet with Kurenai. Shikamaru, Ino, and Chouji had agreed that every time they got a day they would switch off on what they would do. Today was Shikamaru's turn. So, as you can easily assume, they were sitting under a tree watching clouds. Ino, however, decided to break the semi-silence.
"Shikamaru, why do you always say 'troublesome'?" she asked. Shikamaru pondered the question.
"I don't know… I think I picked it up from my dad." Shikamaru shut his eyes and tried to remember what his mother had told him…

Flashback
It was just a normal day. Yoshino was feeding her one and a half year old son his afternoon meal when he began mumbling something. Yoshino's entire mood brightened. He was going to say his first words!
"Shikaku!" she yelled. "Shikamaru is talking!" Shikaku ran into the room. If there was one thing that could make a male Nara stop being lazy, it was the thought of their child's first words. "What do you think he'll say? Momma? Dada? Oh sure hope it's not-"
"Twoublsome."
"W-what? What did he say?" Yoshino asked in horror.
"Twoublesome," Shikamaru repeated. He looked at his mother with a lazy look in his eye.
Oh no. Yoshino thought. He's going to be just like his father… lazy…
"Yoshino, are you ok?" Shikaku asked.
"Y-yes I'm fine. I-I just need some air…" Yoshino drifted out of the room
"Maybe I should've told in addition to the definite high IQ gene, all Nara males are bound to have 'troublesome' be their first word ad they would be lazy… oh well." Shikaku turned to his son. "We're going to get along just fine," Shikaku said smiling at his son.
"Twoublseome," Shikamaru replied with a lazy smirk. The little boy knew what he just said.

Shikamaru was smirking.
"What's so funny?" Ino asked.
"Oh nothing. It's just that my second child will be a very interesting one," Shikamaru replied smirking at Ino.
Ino blushed and looked away. "I don't know what you're talking about," she said. Chouji snickered.
