A Demon and The Time-lord

Chapter 1
Rin was just walking back from the grocery store when a horrible grating sound assaulted his over-sensitive demon ears, causing him to drop the groceries and put his hands over his them. He looked around to find the source of his misery, and decided it was the tall, blue box that read: Police Public call Box that wasn't there before Rin walked over to the box, raising his hand to knock but the doors suddenly flung open, smacking him in the face. Rin stumbled back-wards, and his tail whipped out of its hiding spot from under his shirt to balance him.
A man and woman stepped out. The woman asked, "Doctor, where are we?" Rin answered, "You're in Japan," he then winced, before glaring at the man, tail bristling. "That hurt, why did you have to open the door so hard?" Rin snapped. The man looked taken aback. Then he noticed Rin's tail. "Is that a tail?" he asked. Rin –who had been calling his brother- froze, "uh…" Rin was at an impasse. Thankfully, his little brother, Yukio decided to answer. "Okumura speaking." Rin jumped before he brought the phone to his ear. "Yukio it's me." Silence, and then, "Nii-san? Why are you calling me in the middle of a mission?" Yukio sounded irritated. "Listen, a blue box just showed up out of nowhere." Rin said. "Where are you?" Yukio asked, urgently. "At the grocery store." Rin said, confused. "Stay there!" and with that, Yukio hung up. Rin frowned before putting his phone away.
A hand closed around his tail, making him jump and his tail fluffed out. Rin whipped around, his tail wriggling free of the hand that had closed around it. "Don't touch my tail!" Rin spat out furiously. The man held up his hands. "Alright, I won't," his hands fell to his sides. "I'm the Doctor!" and the woman chimed in, "And I'm Martha!" Rin narrowed his eyes slightly before answering, "'names Rin, Okumura Rin." He said flatly.
"What is that box thing anyways?" he asked, walking up to it and giving it a curious sniff, 'it doesn't smell like wood?' then his thoughts were interrupted with, 'RIN!' Rin jumped about a foot in the air before turning around to see Kuro racing towards him. He smiled, "Hey, Kuro!" 'Rin, Rin, I'm hungry, when are going to eat?' "When we get home Kuro" The Doctor seemed surprised that Rin could understand the split tailed cat sith. "You can understand that cat?" he inquired. "Of course I can, its demon to demon telepathy~" Rin stated matter-of-factly.
Then a naberious attacked. "CRAP!" Rin shouted, The Doctor whipped out his sonic screwdriver to scan it but Rin interrupted. "Both of you, run!" he yelled, whilst he unsheathed kurikara. Rin was engulfed in blue flames, causing the naberious to cower before it lunged. Rin twisted around and avoided the blow before he cut the demon in half. It let out a wail like howl sound before turning to dust. Rin sheathed his sword.
"Are you okay? You were burning just a few moments ago!" Martha said worry lacing her voice. Rin waved her off, shaking his head. "I'm fine, those flames belong to me, so they can't burn me." Martha nodded, relieved. Then the Doctor interjected, "hey, do you want to join us?" Rin thought for a moment, "join you in doing what?" Martha answered, "traveling throughout time and space!" Rin looked thoughtful, before answering, "...sure."
