AUTHOR'S NOTE - Well, I just don't know. One minute I was watching a football game and the next, this was basically writing itself. It took me approximately twenty minutes for this, so the quality might be proportional. But it's just a little piece of domesticated nonsense. The kind of which I am best at. :)

The title makes as much sense to me as it does to you.

UPSIDE-DOWN

She felt like she only closed her eyes for a second, but suddenly there was a gentle hand on her shoulder and a soft kiss on her forehead.

She opened her eyes slowly and looked at the blue eyes above her.

"Hey," – she murmured sleepily, a small smile on her face.

"Whatcha doin'?"

She must have looked ridiculous, she realised, lying upside down on their bed, her head all but hanging off it. The files she had been reading some unknown amount of time ago had been making her eyes close, so she'd thrown them away and thrown herself down on the bed to rest for a bit.

Apparently, a bit lasted longer than she thought.

"Resting my eyes," – she finally answered his question.

"Yeah?" – His smile was contagious. "And how long have you been resting them for?"

He was still crouching next to her head, looking her upside down, running his fingers through her red strands.

"I don't know. What's the time?"

"Eleven forty-seven."

She closed her eyes, unable to contain the laughter bubbling in her chest.

He joined in for a moment or two, planting an upside-down kiss on her lips before standing up.

"C'mon, sleep."

"Not tired. Files to read."

"Jen," – he half-growled. "Sleep."

He left for the bathroom, followed by her indignant humph.

Not ten minutes later he found her snuggled under the covers, dangerously close to his side of the bed. Sound asleep.

"Not tired my ass"
