He packs his bags and takes his diploma and his Stanford acceptance letter and leaves.

two years into their residencies, he asks her to marry him.

"Without Sex of course" That gets a laugh out of her. She watches carefully as he takes out a black velvet box and starts to get down on one knee
She doesn't let him open the box or get a single word in before jumping on him and saying yes over and over again.
That night they make love is when he realised that everything went as planned. He wouldn't change it for anything

Stefan looks different but at the same time like he always has older like he's in his late twenties, his hair is longer, his bangs falling into his eyes. Stubble trailing across his face. The thing that catches Elena and Damon's eye the most is the silver band around his ring finger.
.She's laughing, her head falling back, dark hair sifting over her shoulders, her eyes lighting up and he is smiling at her in a way they've never seen before
They hear her groan. "I have to use the bathroom. Again" she glares at him when he laughs "I'll be back" But before she can take another step. He latches on to her hand and spins her around and kisses her hard on the mouth.
"I love you" he tells her
"Well I should hope so. You did marry me" she says and he pouts
"I love you too" She whispers and pecks him on the lips before marching off to achieve her goal
their eyes pop out as they notice the sutble baby bumb.
damon spots them. He squeezes Elena's hand and looks at the two girls. "You want to say hello?" he asks.

But, Now here he is with two four year olds running around the house and another baby on the way.
