Mirror, Mirror, on the wall

First, I do not own anything in the Harry Potter universe.

Second, another strange way for the Voldemort issue to be resolved.

Harry Potter had just this morning been told that he was a wizard and a famous one at that.

Unfortunately, when a blond haired man with a big smile, grabbed him and started to ask him how he had defeated Voldemort, he had to tell him that he had no idea, as he was only fifteen months at the time.

The man kept on pressing for an answer and was upset when none was forthcoming. Harry eventually pulled away from him and started to walk down the corridor to the stairs leading to the ground floor. The blond, whose name was Gilderoy Lockhart, looked around, and seeing no one, except for a man with a turban already descending the staircase, cast his strongest non-verbal obliviate, before ducking back into his room.

Fortunately for Harry, he tripped on his overlarge trousers and fell forward, the curse missed him and struck the turbaned man in the head.

Harry, not having seen what happened, stood up and continued on his way, Quirrel and the wraith possessing him, had no idea who they were or what they were doing, the wraith eventually left Quirrel, who promptly died, but without any idea of who he was, the wraith of Voldemort wondered around London for the next few centuries.

Harry, after being accosted, by blondie, decided to get answers to a question that had bothered him, and went to Ollivanders to find out if Voldemort was really the man's name, Ollivander told him that his real name was Tom Riddle. The next year, when he found the diary, he recognised the name and took it to McGonagall.

In his third year, when he got the map from the twins, he saw the name Peter Pettigrew and realising that Peter was not a student he knew, asked McGonagall, who he was, and why he was in their dorm. Peter was thus captured and Sirius freed.

In fourth year, when Crouch jr was stunned by the misaimed spells of the aurors responding to the Dark Mark appearing in the sky, Hermoine asked if there wasn't a spell to check for persons hiding, the aurors performed it and found Crouch jr., who was promptly thrown back in jail with his father joining him shortly thereafter.

Harry never found out about the prophecy, and he lived a happy and long life. Dumbledore went to his death wondering what had become of Voldemort, as apart from the diary, no trace of him was ever seen after his defeat in 1981.
