Pro-log: Pain

Pain….

Pain is all he has ever known for the last two centuries. He couldn't even remember a time when there was no pain. Because even in the one year he was most happy he was still in pain. Pain because he couldn't tell the one being who made him smile who he was, what he was. He knew she would eventually leave him like many have in the past. Whether it was willingly or because of death, it was a pain he knew was coming. So he did the only thing he thought he could do at that time that wouldn't cause him much pain. He left. He really believed it was an act of fate when his brother called for help in protecting his little girlfriend.

One night he just up and left her laying there. The sight of her peacefully sleeping is still a sight that haunts him till this very day. It haunts him more than the sight of his only brother kissing his ex-fiance. The pain that that decision brought was way more than the pain he anticipated he would feel. So he made the decision to go back and beg her to forgive him. But by then it was too late. She had already moved on.

No one from her neighborhood was able to give him an answer to where she could have gone. All anyone knew was that her mother had remarried and had taken his girl with her. No one had known who the new man was. He had tried to look for her. Even went as far as to hire a private detective, but he got nothing. I was like she never existed. Her whole existence was wiped clean, no paperwork was ever found. He spent close to a year looking for her until he was called back by his brother for help again. He swore he would find her before it was too late. Zeus only knows what he would do if he were to be too late.

Setting his scotch down on the small table by his chair he turned away from the fire place and walked out of the room to go look for a nice distract in form of his next meal. All the while chocolate depth orbs haunted his every thought and every move.
