Laurent's POV

"This won't hurt a bit. It's a promise." I said slowly coming towards Bella, looking right in her eyes, for her to see I'm telling the truth. There was doubt and confusion in her eyes, and even a bit of excitement, but I was astonished by the extraordinary lack of fear in her eyes, like she was even longing to die. Strange… All of my victims were afraid, even terrified when I was about to kill them. This should be interesting.

She was beautiful, even for a human. But I still couldn't see why was he so attracted to her. I heard her heart pounding and blood going trough her veins. Just the scent made me want her.

A flow of venom filled my mouth. Now I understood.

Hmm… Poor Edward. I'm about to destroy the entity of his existence.

How charming, I thought as I carefully took her face in my hands and leaned my head forward. She shivered as my cold breath caressed her skin, and my lips touched her neck.

Victoria would be out of her mind, she wanted to kill her herself, but I couldn't help myself.

Bella was so… mouthwatering.

My teeth sank trough her skin like it was butter, cutting her strings and muscles and veins, her life energy coming out in a spurt as I sucked and sucked. She let out a silent scream, but as I promised, it didn't hurt.

The blood was hot and dense, and I could feel it in my organism, that sweet, sweet fluid that gave me life. Maybe you can imagine that feeling I feel, the feeling every vampire feel, as I drink blood. It is almost erotic, like an orgasm.

Bella was getting weaker, and all this time, she hadn't even tried to resist. Maybe she really wanted to die. Or maybe she just knew there just wouldn't be use of that.

Then she finally passed out in my arms as I continued suck and lick the flowing stream of blood to the last drop, until she was completely drained.

She fell lifelessly on the ground, and I was feeling kind of sorry for taking her life, but I couldn't let myself feel something like that, I reminded myself.

So I left her lying there, knowing she would be soon found, and that they would probably think an animal did that. It happens everywhere. But somehow the feeling of guilt followed me. I didn't even know I could feel guilt.

Possibly I was becoming softer by living with Irina and her family. They were just like the Cullens. Simply pathetic in their try to live without human blood.

It was not possible. We're just made that way. Soulless and coldblooded. Our existence had just one purpose. To kill humans and feed on their blood. No way you could escape that part.

Jacob's POV

We came there as soon as we smelled the vampire. But the scent was already weak and I had a hunch something bad happened. And my hunches never betray me.

And then I saw her lying there completely drained, her hair spread on the grass, her skin pale white and her eyes closed, just as she was sleeping.

But I saw blood and instantly knew what happened. My inside burned with anger, like a fire flowing trough my veins. "Jacob, stay calm" I heard Sam in my head. It was an order I just couldn't obey.

I ran as fast as I could, letting my reason and sanity behind, with only one thing on my mind.

To kill that leech who did this to my Bella.
